Vehicle Detail
This has to be one of the cleanest and lowest-mileage 1992 Ford Rangers left around. With under 72k miles, this is a time-capsule of a truck that runs and looks great and has never left me stranded. I purchased this truck from the original owner in January of 2016. The elderly gentleman I bought it from garage kept it for most of its life and it shows. It's been a California truck since new and had no problem passing smog last time I took it. I've only put about 4k miles on the truck since I've owned it, mainly using it for Home Depot projects and other light duty truck stuff. I really do hate to part with it but I'm about to move cross-country and just won't have space for it. MECHANICAL This is the top-of-the-line XLT trim with the top-of-the-line 4.0L V6 engine and automatic transmission. The engine starts and runs strong and the transmission shifts great. The following has been done in the last 4k miles, all with receipts: - Transmission pulled and completely resealed at a Ford dealership to address small leaks.- 4 new Hankook Optimo tires (w/ replacement warranty and lifetime rotation+balance at America's Tire/Discount Tire)- New water pump to address small leaks.- New tie rods and tie rod ends- Complete brake job less than 1k miles ago at over $700 - new front rotors, calipers, pads, bearing races, and flex hoses. New rear brake wheel cylinders and shoes. Absolutely every power option, accessory, light bulb, etc. works, EXCEPT: - The A/C. It blows ice-cold when charged, but there is a freon leak that needs to be pin-pointed and re-sealed. The system does use R134a, and the first two years I would just put a can in every summer, but now it seems the leak has gotten bigger since the can I put in a month ago has already leaked out to where it stopped cooling. The good thing is that the compressor and other major components seem fine, just a leak likely at an o-ring seal.- The window struts on the bed topper have stopped being able to support the weight of the window, so it doesn't stay up. This started happening recently and I didn't get a chance to fix them, but finding replacement struts won't be a problem. There are no funny noises from the engine or suspension, and there are no dripping fluids anywhere under the truck. EXTERIOR Cosmetically, the truck shows excellent for its age with all original paint that still shines. There are a few small nicks and scratches and a tiny quarter-sized dent in the drivers door, but nothing major at all. The exception here is the topper, whose paint hasn't aged as nicely, with only small patches of clear coat remaining on the top. But it's a nice LEER topper the original owner installed. It has locking rear-window handles (have key) and sliding side windows with screens (perfect for truck-bed camping). Ford bed liner is in good shape but does have what look like paint stains spattered in areas. The only other exterior cosmetic blemishes are to the front bumper's black plastic guard. It has a small chunk missing on the front and the sides have com unmounted from the chrome bumper. All chrome is in excellent shape. INTERIOR The interior is in fantastic shape. Dash is clean and free of any cracks, door panels are clean, carpets, seats, and fold-down center armrest are clean with minimal wear, headliner is clean with no sagging. The biggest blemish I can say is a small crack in the glove box door. I did install a Kenwood CD/USB/Aux-in head unit and 4 new Kicker speakers which sound great with no buzzing or rattling. Behind-seat storage is clean with all jack equipment is in place. Original floor mats (not pictured) are included. All-in-all, this is a gem of a little truck and I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better value in another pickup in this price range. This truck has a lot of life left in it, and I hope it goes to someone who will similarly use it and take good care of it. SALE DETAILS The truck is located in Mountain View, California, just west of San Jose. I am available to show the truck throughout the auction, just send me a message with when you'd like to come, and I'll get back to you. The truck is sold as-is with no warranty. I'll accept cash or cashier's check for payment. Most importantly, the truck MUST be picked up by noon, July 28th as this is when I have to move. If you want to have the truck shipped, you'll need to make your own shipping arrangements.
