Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4WD - 2001 We have owned this vehicle since 2007. We bought it from a small local dealer. It has been a GREAT family vehicle for us. In all honesty it has 85% of the time been driven locally. We did not put any hard – long freeway miles on while we owned it. Our mechanic said the engine is in great shape. However, we are selling it now because it needs a new transmission. Not from internal wear but a plug and a portion of the housing cracked. Our local transmission tech said it cannot be repaired but needs a new/used transmission. I found one available at this eBay store LKQonline We have done our best to keep it in good shape and clean. Needs: New transmission New tires A.C. works BUT it leaks. For the last 8 years I put in 2-3 cans of coolant and it lasts all summer. New rocker panels. Last year I just cut all the rust parts away and undercoated everything. Can easily put some aftermarket rockers on it. Has: Brakes and wheel bearings have all been replaced in the last 18 months.
