Her father had bought the car new in 1983, and was an active participant in the local Delorean club until his passing in early 2018. It’s very clear that this was an enthusiast-owned car; it is undoubtedly the nicest Delorean we’ve seen, let... alone owned. This fantastic Delorean will be sold with an impressive amount of documentation, included but not limited to: original Bill of Sale and purchase order ($20,700), manuals and warranty information, a Polariod from the day the car was brought home, original stainless polishing kit, annual registration cards since new (continuously registered and insured since new, carfax indicates largely consistent mileage increments of roughly 500 miles a year), and a handful of service records and CA smog reports (most recent was 2012). Service records include a clutch master replacement, steering bushing replacement, and brake fluid flush in 2008, as well as routine oil changes and batteries through the years. Exterior: - Please watch the video accompanying the listing, as the exterior is shown in detail. - There is one blemish on the car. There is a very light ding at the rear corner of the driver’s rocker area, just ahead of the rear wheel. The rest of the car is free of any damage and the stainless polishes up beautifully. - None of the plastic pieces are faded or warped and wavy, something that these cars are prone to. - Glass and light lenses are all clear, crack-free, and original. - Wheels are excellent, with no curb rash or signs of age whatsoever. - Doors open and close very, very smoothly and easily. No clanking or forcible shutting, it’s smooth and quiet. - As this is the ‘83 model (final year), it has the entirely flat hood. Generally considered the best-looking year of the Delorean. Interior: - Interior is in fantastic shape throughout. Dash is perfect, something very rarely seen on these cars. Center console looks as-new, with no scratching or aging. The only part of the interior that showed any wear whatsoever when we got the car was a saggy headliner, which we have since replaced. - Seats are very nice, with no scuffs, tears, or scratches, even on the driver’s outer bolster. - Grey carpeting is excellent. - Gauges are all functional except for the fuel gauge, which always reads as full. Original DMC radio is functional, as is the fan/heat/defrost. Original R12 air conditioning compressor kicks on but does not blow cold. Power windows are functional, as are all lights and signals inside and out. Under the Hood / Underbody: - The car runs and drives extremely well. Easily the nicest driving Delorean we’ve had. Everything feels very tight and smooth. On-road feel is like-new. The car tracks dead straight under both acceleration and braking, and shifts great. Clutch feels very healthy and the suspension is in excellent order. Well-sorted and confidence-inspiring. Overall condition and road feel are very much consistent with the 21,940 miles on the odometer. - Please take a look through the underbody photos, as it’s documented in detail. Underbody looks very good. Absolutely no rust or damage. This car has been garage kept in Southern California for the overwhelming majority of its life and it shows. Overall, this is a phenomenally nice, low-mile, one-owner, 5spd Delorean with excellent documentation. Within 72 hours of bid closing, Buyer must send balance of funds by bank wire transfer, cash in person, bank certified funds to Seller. At time of sending initial deposit, Buyer MUST fax copy of their State issued valid Driver License. Furthermore, before said vehicle is released for shipment to Buyer, all other Sale related and title related paperwork must be signed and returned complete to Seller. Fees and Taxes All sales are subject to taxes which will vary based on the state in which you register. All sales are also subject to a $150 documentation fee for paperwork processing.
