Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is this two owner preowned diesel pick-up. This is a 2001 Ford F-250 Lariat with a 7.3L diesel engine and 8 foot bed. IT HAS A CLEAR TITLE. For cash pick-up in Illinois. Please view photos to check condition - condition is as shown. The truck has many highway miles. Odometer is at 413,262 right now. It has been used for pulling campers and trailers by myself and the previous original owner. The original owner replaced the transmission somewhere around 250k miles. It starts and runs well, but as far as I know the heads have never been touched. Mechanically sound I have still driven on trips recently to the Memphis area. It does not sputter, shake or hesitate. No smoke issues, either. The truck had new tires put on last fall and only have 10k miles on them. Front brake calipers, rotors and pads replace in Feb 2018. Oil changed regularly, but it is due for another. There are no oil leaks and it doesn't burn it. Oil cooler gaskets replaced in January. New muffler and tailpipe installed last November. The previous owner replaced the radiator a few years back. It does not overheat or leak antifreeze. It has the lariat package with leather seats and power. The seats do not have rips or tears. All front power seat functions operating. Air and heat work. It has an 8 foot bed with a pull back cover. It has a working trailer brake controller and the trailer plug for lights is working. All headlights, taillights and signals work. Power mirrors work. Wiper/washers work. It has two batteries. I don't believe there is a jack - never seen one. With a vehicle this old there are bound to be some issues - here they are:The fan for air/heat only runs on high setting - I throttle the cool/heat knob for adjusting temp. All power windows work - driver side can be slow sometimes.Rear power door locks not working - I believe it requires a driver switch panel replacement to fix that.Instrument lights work except there is a bulb burned out on the right side which makes the rpm gauge dark at night. The cover for the bed does not latch so I pull it back to cover the bed and wrap a rope from the cover around the hitch. The radio is unplugged. There was a draw on batteries from an MP player the previous owner installed that my son removed. I asked him to unplug the radio since I don't use it anyway. Just wanted to make extra sure. The electric block heater for cold weather use needs to be replaced - it kept tripping my breaker at the end of the last winter. The 4 wheel drive works, but the hubs need to be turned manually to engage. The switch on the dash does not work - may be a fuse or something else. The right rear quarter panel is rusted, but the rest of the truck appears good. I took a few photos under the truck when I had it parked over a ditch. The rails running across the frame for mounting bed have some rust. You can see this in the photo that shows the muffler. Right above the muffler in the center of the rail there is rust. Also, the most rear rail on the driver side has rusted through. All other bed rails have rust, but still holding at the mounts. The cab corners look good (see photos). The red tailgate is from an F-350 I owned. This truck is an F-250. I bought this truck without a tailgate. The red tailgate is included. Feel free to ask questions - I will try to respond promptly. This vehicle is not listed for sale using any other source. Payment for the vehicle will be in cash on pick-up. I do not wish to ship the vehicle. I would appreciate serious bidders, only. Thanks for looking.
