Vehicle Detail
This is my well-used but well-loved 1998 4Runner Limited (3rd gen). I love this car but I have a growing family so I need to upgrade to a vehicle that has 3 rows. This 4Runner is ready to be your new budget daily driver or it is ready for that lift kit and become your new rock crawler for these beautiful Colorado summers (C'mon! Jeep, Scmeep! Forget that Jeep! 4Runners are excellent fully-capable off-road vehicles with a cult following!) This 4Runner has an electric locking rear differential (E-Locker). This 4Runner is in decent mechanical shape for its age, but you’ll want to be somewhat handy with cars if you want to own any 20 year-old car. I have fixed most things myself as they come up and I’ll outline the work I’ve done thus far below. Non-smoker - No smoke smell Recent Maintenance, Upgrades, & Notes: Front Brake upgrade:I upgraded the brakes to Toyota Tundra brakes & rotors (specifically, for a 2001 Toyota Tundra) for added braking power and increased reliability (3rd generation 4Runners are known for developing warped rotors). Nothing different needs to be done with these other than to ensure you get brake pads for a 2001 Tundra when you service the brakes. (May 2015) Front Suspension:New FCS Coilover Struts (August 2015)New ACDelco Stabilizer/Sway Bar Links & Dorman Stabilizer Bar Bushings (Sep 2017) Rear Suspension:New KYB Gas-a-Just Shock Absorbers (January 2016)New MOOG Coil Springs (January 2016)New Airlift 1000 Coil Spring Airbags (January 2015)New Mevotech Lower Control Arms (December 2015)New Moog Sway Bar Links (December 2015) Exhaust:New Walker Muffler & New Downstream O2 Sensor (June 2014) Transmission:New Large B&M Supercooler 14,400 BTU Transmission Cooler added June 2015(no “pink milkshake” to worry about!) Tires:New Cooper Discoverer ATP Tires 265/70R16 (Aug 2017) (Lots of tread left on them) Engine:New TYC Alternator (January 2017)New Timing Belt & Water Pump (June 2017)In the past few years, I have done my own oil changes every 5,000-8,000 miles using Mobil1 High Mileage full-synthetic oil and Mobil1 and Bosch oil filters.Starter motor rebuilt with new copper contacts (Nov. 2017)New Interstate Battery w/700 CCA (December 2017) Misc:Trailer Brake Control Wiring Harness added (January 2015)Dual 4-way & 6-way trailer connectorClass-3 Trailer Hitch (2" Receiver)I changed the rear differential oil in March 2018Stock stereo replaced with Pioneer DEH-P3500 (AM/FM/CD & Aux In)Roof Rack included -- Yakima Towers and CrossbarsOne keyless entry fob and one key (sorry, I accidentally ran over the other fob!) Known Needs / Known Issues:• There is a small clunk coming occasionally from the front suspension, and I am rather certain that it is the lower ball joints beginning to ask for replacement. If you are handy with the wrench, you can get decent lower ball joints from RockAuto for about $50-$100 and do this job yourself in a matter of a few hours. (No time in my life to do this right now.)• The driveshaft is in need of balancing, which is only a simple $75 service but I just haven’t had time to do it. It is only noticeable when going about 55 mph or greater. You could also probably do it yourself for $5 with two hose clamps, if you’re patient. (I would just get it done, but I don’t have the time for that, myself.)• Rear seat heater lines have been removed and bypassed but could easily be reinstated for a few dollars of hose and a half hour of labor. (Again, I have no time.)• Front dash lights: Some of the lights for the climate controls have burnt out but I, again, just have not had time to pull the dash to replace them.• Front leather seats have some rather large tears.• Rear left top license plate screw is stuck. Sorry - I just haven't been able to extract it.• Driver's Seat lumbar support air cushion no longer inflates. (I think this could easily be fixed by re-soldering the contacts in the switch, but I just have not taken the time to do it.)• Previous owners' + my own shop records are all in a file folder. I have tried to be as clear and transparent as possible with the condition of this vehicle. However, due to it's age, this car comes with no warranty of any kind and is sold "as-is." I have listed the car at 276,500 miles, but it is actually at 276,037 miles as I type this listing, but I will need to continue driving the car for light around-town errands until the auction ends. It will, however, be under 276,500 at the time of auction end. Item is also listed locally so auction may be cancelled at any time prior to auction completion. A local viewing of this car may be set up by sending a text message to me at: (920)412-7737 Upon auction end:A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is required immediately at end of auction.Balance remainder may be paid upon pickup via cash payment, cashier's check, or bank-to-bank wire transfer and purchaser must accompany me to my local bank branch to complete one of these on the day of pickup. The title will be transferred to you immediately upon payment, in full. Pickup options:• Local pickup*• Shipping/delivery may also be arranged by buyer, at buyer's full expense * Car must be picked up no later than June 27, 2018 -- absolutely no exceptions can be made to this! (Note: Scammers, do not waste my time. I know your schemes and I will not fall for them.)On Jun-22-18 at 15:00:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional comments:* Re-useable air filter installed (You just have to clean it instead of changing it)* Antenna is broken -- I only never fixed it because I don't listen to AM/FM radio. The motor still runs but it does not extend nor retractOn Jun-22-18 at 15:45:53 PDT, seller added the following information: • I also have a new heater core that I'll throw in the car for the winner. I was going to replace it but never got around to it due to... you guessed it, lack of time!I don't believe anything is wrong with the current heater core, I just replace aging parts for maintenance-sake and figured I'd get to it at some point, but never got around to it. • Windshield was replaced by Safelite (May 2016)
