Vehicle Detail
Cruiser Corps is selling this 1971 FJ40 on behalf of one of our customers. Between life, family, and work, this Land Cruiser wasn’t able to spend any time out on the road. Even though it has been difficult to let go, our customer wants this FJ40 to find a new home and have many more adventures. Meet Kweche, an exquisite FJ40 that has some unique upgrades. By no stretch of the imagination is this 1971 Land Cruiser a normal FJ40. In addition to running and functioning as it should, Cruiser Corps had the opportunity in 2012 to help make it unique. Here are some of the things we have done: Cruiser Corps did a full restoration on this FJ40 and all of the paint and bodywork. Keeping in mind that we did this back in 2012, there are some minor chips in the paint that have been touched up. Otherwise, the body on this Land Cruiser is absolutely rust free and solid. The entire steering column was removed, and we installed an internal rag joint which allowed an updated steering column from a 1978 FJ40 to be installed in its place. By doing this, we were able to upgrade the 3-speed on the column to a 4-speed on the floor.Cruiser Corps was able to create a one-off, custom soft top, and soft top doors. We were able to build this creation by using an original FJ40 soft top frame and good old ingenuity. The rear bench seat was custom built using two FJ40 seats to stay with the theme of the vehicle. Cruiser Corps designed and installed custom seat covers on all of the interior seats in this vehicle. In 2016, we did an engine rebuild on this Land Cruiser. Since then, it was rarely ever driven, and less than a thousand miles have been put on it. Furthermore, this FJ40 has always been kept in a garage. Kweche is Swahili, and it roughly translates to “Junker.” As you can see from our listing, this FJ40 is anything but that. Our customer gave Kweche this name because of his love for the people of Africa, and his passion for helping make a difference for them. Because of this passion, all proceeds from this sale will be donated to charity. If you have any further questions about this vehicle or would like to see a more detailed picture of something specific, do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are happy to help. If needed, we are able to assist with finding a carrier for shipping. This vehicle is being sold as “Auction” only; there is not a “Buy It Now” option. In addition to this, there is no reserve price set; it will be sold to the highest bidder. Happy bidding!
