Vehicle Detail
Hello, I'm selling this phenomenal car unfortunately, but to the benefit of it's new owner. Simply, I hate seeing it sitting in my hands when it can be driven and improved in yours. It is a 1981 base 928 4.5 V8 American spec paired to a 3 speed automatic. The odometer shows 62,000 miles, however, it was broken for a few of the years I've owned it.The odometer is now fixed but the actual mileage is at least 70,000. This Porsche was originally Zinmetalic, then it was painted silver, and then painted to the current black. It has desirable weissach wheels, but comes with the original phone dial rims. It is completely free of rust and the original frame coating is remarkably intact. There has been a lot of work and upgrades made to this black beauty while I've owned it. - New steering rack - Aluminum steering rack mounts from 928 motorsport - New style ball joints and cams (the aluminum ones are prone to shearing without warning) - New polyurethane sway bar bushings - Proper alignment - New engine wiring harness from 928 motorsport - Aluminum motor mounts from 928 motorsport - New hood and hatch shocks - New water pump 3 years ago - New timing belt 3 years ago (picture included) - Rebuilt timing belt tensioner with new rubber seals - New transmission filter 3 years ago - Belt fan replaced with dual electric fans - 2 new keys made from key for classics - 2 sets of correct number key tumblers, uninstalled - New odometer gear and LED lighting upgrade to gauge cluster - All LED exterior and interior - Tires are 90% - All smog equipment removed from engine - Catalytic converter removed - New exhaust hangers - New Trans axle cooler lines - New Fuel lines - New Fuel pump with filter - New distributes rotor and points - New vacuum lines - Original workshop manual pdf and a wide variety of bespoke 928 tools The bad is certainly there too. - The front seats are quite torn up - The windshield is cracked and needs to be replaced - The leather on the dash is cracked and mostly removed (no loss) - The interior leather is in pretty great shape, but saggy or too tight in places - The sunroof motor works but the sunroof itself needs to be cleaned and lubricated - The AC system worked fine 3 years ago, but I left the drive belt off because I didn't use it. - The wiper fluid pump does not work - The interior lighting works, but fused removed as there is some parasitic draw in that circuit - Paint is flaking on the drivers side door trim, all other paint is in pretty good shape This car has been magnificent to me and I know will be excellent to you. I will happily answer any and all questions and am willing to ship. I am very flexible on price as long as your goals are love and appreciation for this masterpiece of German engineering. I'd love to chat with you. Cheers
