I purchased this vehicle to lightly restore. I bought it in non running condition. Bypassed the neutral starter safety switch with a jumper wire and electrical tape. I did a tune up with new plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor button. Fixed melted wires running to the blower motor. Installed a new radiator with a new cap and transmission cooler hoses. I changed the oil and filter and the transmission fluid, filter, and trans pan gasket. I have been driving it everyday but I have to many projects going with not enough time or funds to make this Runner how I want it. The Good: Frame is in really good shape, only light surface rust. No rot on frame. 4x4 works good. Heater works. All gauges work. Brakes work. Power steering is good. All lights and glass are in good shape. Newer Pioneer CD player with aux input. Top doesn't leak. Runs and drives. Clear title in my hand. The bad: Body rust. Probably needs a timing chain kit. The guides are more than likely broken. Makes a knocking sound sometimes under a load at high RPMs. Transmission shifts funny sometimes, not bad but just making that known. Needs valve cover gaskets. Rear window is working but the motor is weak. Hood and driver's door are dented. Rear bumper bent and one of the end caps is missing. Seats are very worn. Driver's seat does not slide. Dash has a crack in it. Has the rear sag. Sitting on stock steel wheels with non A/T street tires.
