1965 Ford Galaxie 500 XL, was told mileage is correct at 28,991, but can't verify the accuracy. Original 352 FE block V8, 4bbl Edelbrock carb, smooth-shifting floor shift automatic (kickdown rod for passing gear is not connected). Car runs and drives amazing, temps running around 190 degrees even on hot days. This blast from the past shows well and is a solid driver. Won a People's Choice Award this past weekend in a classic car show. Was painted about a year ago factory color code J, in basecoat/clearcoat Rangoon Red. Power drum brakes and all rubber lines are new. This is a factory AC car but I don't have the compressor for it. All interior is original with exception of recovering the door panels. Headliner has a few small tears, carpet is in great shape but faded. Front seats are in amazing shape, but the rear split at the seams in the middle as shown in pics. Paint shows well, but does have a few small scratches and nicks from use. Turns heads everywhere she rolls, factory dual exhaust has old school sound with glass packs...just the way it should have sounded back in the day. All rust was cut out and fresh metal replaced, which were only in the quarters. The trunk, floorpans, rockers, etc. were all solid. The lights, speedometer, odometer, fan motor and gauges work. The radio, fuel gauge (needs a sending unit) and windshield wipers do not. The rest of the car was super solid to start with. Still needs weatherstripping replaced around the doors and the windshield is cracked. Also missing the rearview mirror. She's fun to take to the shows or cruise on the weekends. I had plans to finish the knick knacks such as the carpet, mirrors, headliner and backseat, but have too many projects and not enough time.
