You are bidding on a 1963 Corvair Monza Spyder convertible. This car has been kept on blocks in a garage for forty (40) years! Although it needs complete restoration, it is remarkable in several ways. First, it is very complete and includes hard to find original parts. The engine is not stuck and should run. However, I did not try to start it because it has sat for so long. The original turbo and 4 speed transmission are intact and complete. The original interior is above average except for the carpets. Even the original top boot and Chevrolet seat belts are still in the car. There is rust in the floor, as is often the case with convertibles. However, other body parts are very solid with original paint intact inside door panels, etc. There are several dents as can be seen in the pictures, but I would rather deal with dents than rust. If I didn't already have a restored '64 Spyder, I would certainly restore this one. This will be an excellent project car that will certainly be worth the effort. Parts are also available from suppliers such as Clark's Corvair. Feel free to ask questions, and you may inspect the car during the auction if you wish. As with any project car, time and expense will be needed, and I don't want to mislead anyone. However, the Spyder convertible is one of the most desirable of the Corvairs, and restoring this one should be worthwhile. The winning bidder should pay the $200 deposit by Paypal within 48 hours of the auction's close. The balance is due when the car is picked up within a week and may be in cash, or by other means agreed upon. Transportation is the buyer's responsibility, and I will do all I can to make the transaction as easy as possible.
