Vehicle Detail

Selling my 1965 Honda cb77 Super Hawk. This was Honda's first sports bike on the American market and was my daily rider until this last September. It is in great condition for its age. I am a certified motorcycle mechanic, so I can answer any questions you might have about the bike in pretty good detail. I installed a Dyna ignition system, so there are no points to deal with. Tires are in great shape. Right now, it does need a new battery and new ground wires off the battery. Easy fix. The odometer does not currently show speed, as this bike needed a reverse mechanism at the front wheel base to turn the odometer magnets counter clockwise. I've never needed it in the city, so it's been no big deal. This can be found on ebay for $50. Just search for 1965 Cb77 speedometer reverse. This is the same bike Robert Pirsig rode across the country in "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance".I bought the bike from a retired Ford assembly worker in Detroit. He rebuilt it from 2 bikes, so it didn't have a title. I got my title 5 years ago through Vermont, I can sign over the Jitney Permit. I just offloaded a bunch of other vintage Hondas, but was holding on to this one and my new Triumph for me. Now my wife is requiring me to go down to one bike after my daughter was born...yeah, I'm that guy now.
