One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on C3 Corvettes is strong right now and on the rise and 1973 is a special, one year only, body style. The clear Ohio title, pictured below, shows the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, video, and information below to get a true sense of how nice and clean this Corvette really is. Model years after were more at the mercy of insurance companies, fuel prices, and emission concerns, 1973 is considered the last "good" year by many enthusiasts. The 1973 model year is also considered a special and different year for Corvette enthusiasts as it was the only model to have chrome in the back and a rubber bumper in the front. It is representative of the transition Corvette was making at the time. As in investment, the 1973 will always have an advantage and out perform other years because of its precedence as the end of a a very great period for Corvette and muscle cars as a whole. condition Exterior The Gold Metallic exterior is in nice driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has a terrific gloss and deep shine. The slotted Corvette aluminum wheels are in excellent condition with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. The BF Goodrich Radial TA tires have about 90% tread left. The chrome looks terrific with no pitting or cloudiness. There are a few blemishes and spots in the paint around car that are visible in the photos and some that were too tiny to show up in pictures, but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. There are NO RUST ISSUES with this car and as one can see in the many photos of the underside it is very clean underneath. The frame is totally solid with no rust around the "key hole" area in front of the rear tire and there are no signs of corrosion around the windshield or "birdcage" area, which are the two most notorious areas for rust on a Corvette of this era. The car looks just as good in person as it does in the photos. Interior The Saddle Vinyl interior in this Stingray is in outstanding condition. The seats are in excellent shape with no split seams, rips, or excessive wear. The carpet is also in fantastic condition with no holes, rips, or major stains. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are clear. The door panels are in terrific shape. The door pulls are solid and intact. The dash and console look nice with no sun fading, there are a couple tiny cracks in the dash cap that are too small to show up in the photos. The car now has a more modern CD player that sounds great. The jack is still with the car and pictured below showing the original decal on the compartment lid. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes. Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well, and the excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the care and attention this car has received throughout its life. The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos. Mechanical This Corvette seems to be in very good mechanical condition. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. It drives great and feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations or strange noises and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shift well. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean and detailed. The radio works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, wipers, and indicators. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. The vacuum system for the headlights works correctly with no effort or binding in the mechanism. Also, the headlights go up properly with either the headlight switch or vacuum override switch. Their complete operation form both switches can be viewed in the video below. The horn and blower for the heater do not work. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the T-tops out on a beautiful day. The car runs and drives as well as it looks. Overall Condition Overall, this 1973 Corvette is in great driver condition. Low mileage examples in this year range are very rare and draw a huge premium over a standard Corvette. This Stingray is a great value and we have it priced to sell. The value of third generation Corvettes has increased dramatically in recent times, this is especially true for the 1973 model year. They are solid and wise investments for a collector. 1973 was a very special and one year only body style for Corvette that is always recognizable with the newer front end treatment and the classic chrome bumpers on the back. The previous owner told us the mileage is original and the title shows the mileage as correct, but we do not have any other documentation to prove the mileage. While this is not an NCRS Top Flight or Bloomington Gold car, it is a very nice driver quality Corvette and a great car for the money. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort. Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions. vehicle video For a ten minute video of the car including running, starting, walk around, function check, and test drive on the road and highway please visit: https://youtu.be/E34BrUFbOW0 . vehicle pictures Click here to view all full size photos Seven Hills Motorcars, Inc. - 1973 Stingray Seven Hills Motorcars, Inc. - 1973 Stingray 4/11/2018 Matt: 513-708-1468 matt@SevenHillsMotorcars.com Please be sure to check our other auctions on eBay worldwide shipping The vast majority of cars sold by Seven Hills Motorcars are shipped across the country or even across the world to their new owners.
