Original Owner of 1973 VW Thing for Parts or a Rebuild I began a restoration a number of years ago and then got frustrated and tired of doing the work (no automotive knowledge). This car has a much desired and rare fiberglass hardtop that was installed when living in California. The car also has the original gasoline heater that is still operational.There are a number of rusted areas on fenders and body panels. The floor boards look okay. Steering wheel needs replacement (or just the center piece with the electrical stuff). All of the parts of the dismantled engine are included along with a number of manuals, including the original owners manual. I look forward to showing it to anyone who may be interested.
