The market on the 560SL is absolutely red hot right now and this example is priced to sell. Low mileage and original examples of the R107 Mercedes SL exceptionally difficult to find and draw a huge premium in the current market. 78,765 on Mercedes from this era is low. These cars were built like tanks and can virtually run forever if properly maintained. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured below, showing the mileage as "Actual." We welcome overseas buyers. Just last year we sold over a dozen 560SL's to clients in Europe. We are familiar with the export process and have first hand experience selling internationally. Our ads are very comprehensive with a huge number of photos, a detailed description, and comprehensive video so that any perspective buyers who are unable to view the car in person and have to buy "sight unseen" can feel confident about their purchase. The maintenance book is stamped at every single service interval including the most recent 75,000 miles service so this Mercedes has excellent service history. A couple of the stamps are pictured below. The car comes with the original owners manual, books, Mercedes tool kit, convertible top wrench, spare tire and rim, jack, Maintenance booklet, convertible top operation booklet, warranty booklet, climate control card, cruise control card, and miscellaneous other items from when the car was sold new, which are all pictured below. This 560SL looks outstanding, runs great, and is an awesome driver. It comes with both the soft-top and auxiliary hardtop. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Mercedes that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. This Mercedes is finished in the beautiful and highly desirable color combination of Mercedes Signal Red (568) over Palomino Light Brown Leather interior (274). This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the data tag and vehicle information card, both pictured below. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of clean and nice this 560SL really is. This Mercedes is verified as "numbers matching" meaning both the engine and the transmission in the car are the correct and original units that were installed in the factory. This 560SL has the "vehicle data card" from the Mercedes factory, which is pictured below. It shows the original engine number to be "117967 12 016610." We have checked the engine and confirmed that same engine number stamped on the left side of the engine block. There is also a sticker on the main case of the transmission, pictured below, showing the correct corresponding VIN. The paint and interior codes are also correct and match the vehicle data card and the data tag by the radiator. As a side note, this Mercedes is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the 560SL, just give us a call. condition Exterior The Mercedes Signal Red exterior is in good driver condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a nice gloss and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely; it has that solid Mercedes touch and feels like a vault door closing. The chrome wheels look almost brand new with a brilliant mirror like finish and no curb rash. The tires look almost new and are correctly sized 205/65R15. The convertible soft-top is in good condition. The rear windows in the soft-top are clean with no scratches, yellowing, or fogginess. There is a spot of the top that has been patched and is visible in the photos. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. As one would expect from a paintjob with many years on it there are some stone chip touch ups and other very small blemishes around the car with specific photos below and some that are too tiny so show up in the photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. The trim around the right headlight does not fit perfectly. As one can see in the many photos of the underside, this 560SL is very clean underneath. We have also included specific photos of the rockers, lower front and rear quarter panels, and other areas on the car most prone to rust to show how nice it looks. Interior The Palomino Light Brown Leather interior of the 560SL looks great. The seats are in excellent condition with no tears, rips, or excessive wear. The seat is not overly worn in the typical area on the driver's bolster where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these appear to be the original seats and skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The carpet looks great with no rips or holes. All of the gauges faces are crisp and the lenses are clear. The dash is in good condition with no fading or sun damage, there is one small crack on the dash that was too small to show up in the phtoos. The original door panels look great with no cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The wood trim looks nice overall with no fading; there are some very fine hairline cracks in the wood by the window switch. This car has not been smoked in and there is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever. The newer CD player sounds great. The original Becker radio is also included with the car and pictured below. The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed with the original spare tire and rim, jack, and tool kit with the correct Mercedes wrenches. The excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this Mercedes has received throughout its life. Mechanical This 560SL appears to be in very nice mechanical condition. As stated above this Mercedes has excellent service history with stamps in the maintenance book at every mileage interval. The engine starts right away every time, idles smooth, and runs great. It is an exceptional driver that feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 65mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to a stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that it runs great, there are no vibrations, and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. They were recently serviced with new front calipers. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. Also, the engine bay is clean, nicely detailed, and correct as one can see from the photos. Please note in the video that all there are no "check engine" or other warning lights that stay on. The wipers works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, indicators, power locks, power antenna. All of the gauges work and even the clock runs. The a/c also works and blows cold. The horn does not work. This Mercedes has lots of power with the 5.6 liter engine. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a beautiful day. Overall Condition Overall, this 1987 560SL is in excellent condition and is a true bargain at our asking price. The market on for the R107 body style SL Mercedes is very strong right now, particularly for low mileage examples like this car. This Mercedes is a great value and will only appreciate over time. Someone could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
