Extremely rare 1956 s160 4x4 short frame IH. Fire body was recently refabricated and any Rust you see is flash rust from bare metal being in open air. It will sand off prior to priming body. Vehicle has very desirable 345 v8 and 5 spd od trans upgrade... will do 65-70 mph. Also has factory pto winch and factory grill guard. Also has a side mount wajax pump... pump is in working order.... Tire tread is in like new condition... have full history on where truck served as well as orig reg paper from 57. Big tonnage short frame trucks are the crown jewel of the 4x4 world. This truck is IH's best most iconic front end design. Too many projects guys and girls.... this beautiful truck will be going to a new home Needs paint and seat cushion to be ready to hit the road in my opinion. Please ask all questions before bidding. Tag matches truck 2. Request for provenance....... Picture of original reg card from 57. Reg. To Fruit growers .......a division of SUNKIST corporation ....this was the location they built and stored the wooden boxes they shipped the fruits in....the location was far enough away from town they were required by law to have a fire suppression vehicle on site.....that was this truck. So it saw little use. 3. Total length from winch bumper to the back diamond plate is approx. 19 1/2 ft. That is EXTREMELY SHORT for a big tonnage s160 4x4. 4. ....Brand new steel tank to spec. ..... brand new fire body to spec. The fabrication work is beautiful in my opinion. 5. Gas tank recently taken out and flushed, new electric fuel pump. 6. Pto winch is fully functional.... Went to the time and trouble to get correct pto for eng. trans conversion. 7. No hose reels...was a cannon truck..... Provision for cannon is fabricated into top of body.You supply brass cannon. 8 how clean is the truck? Look at the rims....do a close up...not even one pit...completely beautiful. Truck just didn't get abused.
