Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration is a 1956 Pontiac Star Chief Catalina survivor. Built in South Gate, California where it lived most of its life and then Oregon. This car left Oregon and went to North Carolina where it had been stored since 1991 until recently. Car is very solid. The worst body troubles are minimal and located in the doors. See pics. The underbody, trunk, floors, rockers etc are all extremely well preserved. The leaded joints where the quarters meet the panel below the trunk have lifted, see pics. Car comes with a half gallon of unreduced Sandlewood Rose PPG DBC basecoat from when the car was sprayed in the mid-90s making touch ups very easy. The 316 is tight and starts right up. The three speed Hydramatic shifts as it should. The car has had recent wheel cylinders, brake shoes, and hoses and stops very well. The original leather interior has survived and could only use a couple panels replaced to be in good driver quality order. The original carpet and headliner are nice as well. Car has the optional padded dash with no cracks. The rear bumper and stainless are very very straight and presentable. The lower front bumper was poorly chromed in the mid-90s and has since turned loose. The rest of the front bumper/grille area chrome is driver quality or less with the exception of the NOS bumper/grille guard kit that was recently installed. Car is optioned with E-Z-Eye tinted glass. The pass side door glass is cracked. Car is wearing a set of the 6.70-15 Firestone Deluxe Champions with good tread and no dry rot with the exception of some light checking in the whitewalls. Overall this is a very honest car that would make a great small project or full blown restoration. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Please ask any questions. Thanks 276-393-9702 On Feb-12-18 at 05:56:40 PST, seller added the following information: Note this car is wearing all four of its original Delco Spiral Shocks
