Vehicle Detail
1957 Oldsmobile 2 door Holiday Since the car did not sell last round, I'm changing up a couple of things. Just a starting price - no reserve. Also added a few other things to go with it. Pictures have been attached 1. A set of NOS back up light assemblies. These are hard to find and a are not cheap when you do find them. 2. Set of re-chromed tail light assemblies3. Restored correct '57 power antenna - my car is wired and has the dash switch for one. Hard to find and also not cheap4. Restored jack 5. 6 or 7 AC Delco PF122 oil filters that go to the car6. Complete inner and outer rocker panels. The ones on it a fine and don't need much. (not pictured)7. A brand new better fitting dash pad still in the box. The one on it is fine (came from Just Dashes) but it is thicker than stock and I ordered one from a company in Finland that does a better job (Not pictured)8. Glass for side window is still included of course9. Various literature for '57 Oldsmobile10. New correct side mirror in box from Fusick Rebuilt 371 original engine with about 7000 miles on it. J2 Tri-power with dry element air cleaner All original except converted to a progressive linkage instead of the of the original vacuum set-up Original hydramatic transmission rebuilt at the same time as the engine. Interior was redone prior to my owning the vehicle. Black vinyl is older with a small tear on the lower back were driver sits. Otherwise very presentable despite its age. Gauges and clock work. Both rebuilt by professional shop. Steering wheel as no cracks It has a rebuilt original wire harness Chrome is very nice with the exception of some pitting around the vent windows. Bumpers are in nice shape Paint is also very nice. There is a couple scratches on the passenger side door where someone opened their door into mineThere is also some little bubbles (pictured) starting to come through on the passenger's side rocker panel. Otherwise the car is very solid and not full of Bondo Original code says it was a two tone black up front with fiesta red below the trim line car with matching interior The driver's side window has a crack. It happened when I replaced the window regulator. I have a replacement glass to go with it, just had not put it in yet. This car is very nice, not perfect, but very nice. It would take little to be perfect. It gets plenty of attention anywhere it goes. I have driven this car over 500 miles to car a show and then back, and on many 100 mile plus trips without a hiccup - It runs well. I have had the car 8 years and have really enjoyed it. Only selling due to another project that, of course, is over budget On Feb-17-18 at 04:36:57 PST, seller added the following information: Answers to your Questions: 1. The passenger side outer rocker has a couple of bubbles (pictured). I ran a magnet along both rocker and the quarters and it sticks everywhere. There does not appear to be any Bondo in it. I had the spare rocker from another project that I did not need. 2. The car had the J2 on it from when I bought it in 2010. It had been there a long time because the engine looked untouched for a long time. Speaking with the '57 Olds experts in the Olds club, there is no way to verify original J2 on any car unless you have the original build sheet which is extremely rare. So I cannot verify it was a J2 in '57, but no one can on any of these cars since the build sheets rarely survived. 3. The car was owned by a retired Oldsmobile (GM) engineer. He was older and had a large collection and was downsizing. He was out of Chicago. He had owned it for many years. I bought in 2010. I replaced or rebuilt everything mechanical on it except the rear end. Engine, Transmission, brakes system, power steering, and generator. I had the wire harnesses rebuilt. I put the new ones in for the dash and engine. The one for the rear goes with it, but I had not put it in yet. I have receipts. 7000 miles on it. Oil changed every year with Amsoil with zinc. Radiator has been flushed and replaced last year. Brakes adjusted a last fall along with front bearings greased. The car has been seen by the '57 Olds expert in the JWO club and he was impressed with the car despite the incorrect cover on the interior. SMS has the interior that could be purchased for about $2000.00 I made sure everything mechanical was sound, but did not do anything to the body or interior other than get everything working on the dash. 4. The car is at my residence on a lift and is available for inspection
