Vehicle Detail

This Buick Roadmaster Wagon Limited 5.7L V8 FI OHV 16V RearWheel Drive has been good to me, and she will be good to you. Starts up every time with no smoke issues, even after sitting for months. Very strong engine! 350 LT1. "Corvette engine" The 4 speed Automatic transmission just started slipping in 3rd & 4th gear though.(est. $1,200 repair) The transmission repair cost is based on 4 actual drive test estimates of this car and a different car at local shops. Finding the right shop is the key. I was quoted $1800 to rebuild this one at an expensive shop but I found a much cheaper repair shop & even a refurbished transmission was $800 plus $400 installation if I sourced it myself. So about $1200 and it’s good to go either way. Right now she drives fine, just not at highway speeds. I would definitely fix this car if I was keeping her but I have purchased a smaller wagon. This one is so huge! I moved and have no space to park it. I have laid down 8'x4' plywood sheets and closed all the doors and driven home which I can not do with pretty much any other car. I have also had three 12 foot beams hanging over the rear tailgate with the back glass open. no problem for this car! Just amazing space. No tow hitch right now but it can tow about 7,000 lbs if desired. it has the towing package a POSI rear end & self leveling air shocks. Also Ive had 8 people in it using the 2 rear facing seats. I added some pictures of her in use and of some of the repairs I have done. This car is a blast to own and drive! Over time I have replaced a few things. New rear air shock absorbers, four new tires, new brakes disks and drums, 2 mufflers and 2 tailpipes. Rear end fluid- the gears look brand new in there! Fuel pump. Radiator. Thermostat. A few sensors and bulbs. It needs a new drivers door mirror that was smashed by vandals not by an accident. It also needs a heater core. Sound system sounds decent but its a cassette player and has a cassette stuck in it. Paint is not perfect and has small areas of rust showing but body panels are all straight. Passenger side rear window needs new track bushing. Leather interior is in great shape, no tears or worn spots. This was my main driver for a few years, I have to say it was a lot of fun to drive. This clean title car is original, meaning there are no modifications other than what the dealer sold it as back in 1996. It was the last year of production for these wagons. With a little work and a small investment this car will bring you a wagon full of fun!
