This auction is being relisted because the last buyer was a scammer and no longer registered with ebay. I am hoping the other interested bidders find this new auction. Because of the fraudulent activity with the last auction, I was not able to retrieve previous bidder information to offer second chances. So here we go again! 2001 BMW 330i is in decent shape. Only body damage is a small dent in the left rear quarter panel shown in photo. Runs and shifts great with 211,300 miles. The reason I am selling it is that I started getting a engine code P0734 and P1732 which puts the car in limp mode and the car will not move. Turn it off and restart with the gearshift in neutral and it drives fine again. The transmission was completely rebuilt about 2 years ago ($3,000.00). The dealer said that many things can cause this fault, even just a bad battery! Because of the age and mileage and the fact that I have exhausted my abilities to fix it I have decided to sell it to someone with some auto repair knowledge as opposed to getting into dealership service costs. A/C blows cold and all options work and it is loaded. The only other problems are a burned out headlight, a bad anti lock brake control (brakes work fine just no anti-lock) and the left rear window actuator needs to be replaced. I also have new front and rear O2 sensors which I was unable to install. Newer Michelin tires are in excellent condition! Since the first time I had the problem, I have been driving the BMW daily for short trips although I do not have current registration because I cant pass smog with a service engine light. In total since the first indication of a problem I have driven about 150 miles. What I have found is that if I use the steptronic function the transmission works fine. If I put it in drive, once up to operating temperature the transmission will hard shift and sometimes go into the limp mode. When it goes into the limp mode the car will not go forward or reverse and there is a cog symbol on the dash. But if I simply restart it in neutral which as I understand bypasses fault codes, it works fine again. I wish I could figure this out and fix it because I love this car! My best guess is something to do with the trans valve body. I have read that limp mode ignores everything and puts the trans in 4th gear. Since when in limp mode the car will not move, it seems like maybe the manual valve is leaking pressure. Well of course that is all googled knowledge and I actually have no idea! Bottom line is if you have the mechanical experience to fix the problem, its a great car at a low price! If you have any other specific questions message me and I will post for everyone to see. And please... no scammers this time. I will not call you, of text you or email you. I will only communicate using Ebay's message system and I will not accept ANY payment other than cash on delivery. I will $100.00 deposit to PayPal but balance must be paid in person.
