2004 Porsche Boxster S 550 Spyder Special edition. Very rare numbered factory special edition with only 1953 cars produced. The 550 Spyder special edition includes the following upgrades over the Boxster S: 265 HP, and increase of 15 over the Boxster S. Special stacked exhaust with a throaty exhaust tone, wider wheel stance, all red taillights, silver mesh inserts in the rear diffuser, seal gray centers on the 18" wheels, GT Silver metallic paint (at the time only found on the carrera GT supercar and now a special order color on current cars), cocoa brown convertible top, full leather interior in cocoa brown with perforated grips on the door handles, shifter, and steering wheel, GT silver interior accents including the center console, door pulls, and dash accents, and Hard back shell sport seats. 6spd transmission. Recent tires. CLEAN TITLE with no accident history. 197,xxx highway miles. The car has been a daily driver.The car looks great for its age. As the price reflects there are a few minor cosmetic and mechanical items to be addressed, but nothing major. The paint has minor dings and scratches reflecting its age. The drivers side seat has wear and the bolster leather needs to be replaced. The car is currently experiencing the BOSE intermittent speaker issue which is common for this model year. Occasionally it works just fine. The O2 sensors occasionally report slow and set of the dash light, however these have been tested by a Porsche specialist and they did not recommend replacement as they were working... sometimes just a fraction of second slower than factory parameters. There is a belt or pulley that sometimes can be heard once the engine reaches full temp. Buyers are encouraged to come inspect the car in person or arrange at their expense to have a third party inspection service perform a pre purchase inspection. These inspections must take place prior to the end of the auction period. The sale is in as is condition and no warranty is implied.The car is priced for a quick sale reflecting the minor work to be done. It has greater potential to be collectible compared to standard issue Boxster S cars. Looking for a Porsche enthusiast to enjoy it for many more years.
