The market on the 560SL is absolutely red hot right now and this example is priced to sell. Very low mileage and original examples of the R107 Mercedes SL are exceptionally difficult to find and draw a huge premium in the current market. There is copy of the Carfax report on this car pictured below. It is totally clean, shows no accident history, and verifies the low mileage. The low original mileage is also verified not only by the condition of the car, but also by the clear Ohio title showing the mileage as "Actual." This Mercedes is verified as "numbers matching" meaning the engine in the car is the correct and original unit that was installed in the factory. It is especially rare, but this 560SL has the "vehicle data card" from the Mercedes factory, which is pictured below. It shows the original engine number to be "117967 12 011036." We have checked the engine and confirmed that same engine number stamped on the left side of the engine block. This 560SL looks outstanding, runs great, and is an awesome driver. It comes with both the soft-top and auxiliary hardtop. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Mercedes that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. This Mercedes is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combination of Arctic White (147) over Navy Blue Leather interior (272) with a dark blue soft-top (744). This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the data tag by the radiator, window sticker, vehicle data card, and data plate all pictured below. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of clean and nice this 560SL really is. The car comes with service records and some stamps in the maintenance book. Some of those maintenance stamps are pictured below. Also included with the car are the original owners manual, original window sticker, books, tool kit, convertible top wrench, spare tire and rim, jack, date plate, Becker radio booklet, radio information card, cruise control card, climate control card, the original salesman's business card, and miscellaneous other items from when the car was sold new, which are all pictured below. We purchased this 560SL from a gentleman in Lexington, KY. He purchased the car in November of 2000 and there is an odometer statement from that sale showing the car had 54,520 original miles at the time. This 560SL was purchased new at Gulf Stream Motors in West Palm Beach, FL. As a side note, this Mercedes is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. If you have a question about the 560SL, just give us a call. condition Exterior The Arctic White exterior is in excellent condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a brilliant gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely and the car has great body panel fit. The wheels are in great shape with a nice finish and no curb rash. The tires are correctly sized 205/65R15 and show a bit of age, but have about 90% tread left. We have seen no paint lines, overspray, or other signs of paintwork at all. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. As with any paintjob with many years on it there are some stone chip touch ups and other very small blemishes around the car that are too tiny so show up in the photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five feet away. As one can seen in the many photos of the underside, this 560SL is very clean underneath. We have also included specific photos of the rockers, lower front and rear quarter panels, and other areas on the car most prone to rust to show how nice it looks. Interior The Navy Blue Leather interior of the 560SL looks great. The seats look just in person as they do in the photos with no tears or rips. The seat is not overly worn in the typical are on the driver's bolster where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these appear to be the original seats and skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The carpet looks excellent with no rips, holes, or stains. All of the gauges faces are crisp and the lenses are clear. The dash is in good condition with no fading or sun damage. The original door panels look great with no cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The convertible soft top is in fantastic shape and the rear windows are clean and not yellowed or foggy. The wood trim looks nice overall with no fading; there are some very fine hairline cracks in the wood by the window switch, and a crack in the dash visible in the photos. This car has never been smoked in and there is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever. The original radio is still with the car works great as does the power antenna as one can see in the video. The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed with the original spare tire and rim, jack, and tool kit with the correct Mercedes wrenches. Please note that the original Mercedes first-aid kit is complete and also still with the car. The excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this Mercedes has received throughout its life. Mechanical This 560SL appears to be in very nice mechanical condition. The engine starts right away every time, idles smooth, and runs great. It is an exceptional driver that feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 65mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to a stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that it runs great, there are no vibrations, and the car performs quite nice overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. Also, the engine bay is clean, nicely detailed, and correct as one can see from the photos. Please note in the video that all of the warning lights work properly. They light up when the key is first turned on and then go off when the engine is started. There are no "check engine" or other warning lights that stay on. The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, indicators, wipers, and fan. All of the gauges work and even the clock runs. The a/c works and blows cold. This Mercedes has lots of power with the 5.6 liter engine. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a beautiful day. Overall Condition Overall, this 1986 560SL is in excellent condition and is a true bargain at our asking price. The market on for the R107 body style SL Mercedes is very strong right now. This Mercedes is a great value and will only appreciate over time. Someone could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
