1965 Triumph Bonneville

For your restoration pleasure - a 1965 Triumph Bonneville that spent all it's life in California. Frame and Motor Numbers Match. As you can see by the photos, it needs a complete restoration. The frame is straight, but it does have extended fork tubes. Note this Triumph sports an original and early "Joe Hunt" magneto. The rear of the frame has been altered behind the suspension to accommodate a sissy bar. Stock soft-tail suspension is not impacted. I believe the fix/repair for this alteration is included in the photos and with the bike (along with the sissy-bar, not pictured.) The tank is not stock and made of fiberglass; additionally, it is not functional as someone mistakenly put ethanol in it according to the previous owner. The previous owner stated it started on one kick - but I have not tried to start it. I purchased this Triumph in 2015 for $3700 from a motorcycle restoration shop on the Central Coast of California. It has always been garaged. Based on his story, I am only the third owner. My original intention was to do a complete restoration to bone stock on this classic, but have not been able to find the time. I don't want it to sit here for another two years waiting for me to get to the restoration when someone else could be enjoying it. Finally, the mileage I have posted is not accurate; I do not know the mileage as this bike has no odometer. eBay requires a number in this field and I could not put in "unknown", which is accurate.
