This a very nice example of a preserved original 1962 Honda trail 55. This model was officially first sold in 1963, this bike is titled as a 1962, was on the dealer showroom floor in 1962 as a incentive demo bike, this was to show potential buyers what the bike would look like 1963 when it could be purchased. If my information is correct, this bike was kept by the dealership owner in storage for many years and has been used very little over the years. Bike may have been sold originally by Beene Honda located in Coalinga, California because bike has a very early dealer license frame from this Honda dealer . Cosemtics: minor marks and scratches from use over the years, I say 8/9 out of 10. Front fender needs rechroming to be pristine. Seat is nice, rack is nice, rims have a nice shine. Tires are 50% but older. Bike will clean up more from what I have done. Running condition: Bike starts, runs and drives well. Bike shifts well through all gears, trans is a semi-auto 3 speed, meaning no clutch, you just let off throttle before shifting to next year. Battery s newer, 6V. Issues: Bike has a small oil leak, not sure where it is coming from. Speedo and odometer are not working, needs new cable and I have not been able to find one so far. Horn does not work. I have put approx. 100 miles on bike over the last month, so actual mileage is more than the 2290, but by condition of bike it cannot be much more. Bike will not come with basket or the bell on the back as shown in the pictures, I will remove these before bike is picked up. Bike has lower geared sprocket in in place, but does not have the extra chain length and master link needed to run the larger lower geared sprocket. Bike is being sold as is, where is, please ask any questions, bike is only for sale because I have too many and I am out of room. Bike is perfect for cruising around town or for putting on the back of a RV. Bike is currently registered in my name and comes with a clear California title.
