Vehicle Detail
I have a bone stock 87 Spacie for sale 244,xxx on the clock. I am the 3rd owner, I bought if from the guy who bought it on the Toyota lot in 1988. Since I bought it last year I have serviced the automatic transmissions w/ new filter and fluid, new oil and filter, new fuel filter, new injectors, new injector harnesses, new coolant temp valve, all new vacuum lines, new valve cover seal, new intake and exhaust seals, new exhaust manifold, replaced a broken manifold stud at a shop, plenty of other new sensors and stuff, new starter, new muffler, new power steering line, new brakes and drums, new soft brake lines, new thermostat and coolant, all belts are new, 4 new tires, 1old tire replaced the full size spare, plenty of other maintenance items caught up. It runs fine once warm, however, it idles too low when cold started until you give her some gas and she warms right up then idles smoothly. There is no under body rust. There are only 4 spots with surface rust (by the slider, rear door and drivers door) that just popped through, all smaller than a .50 cent piece and all have been sanded down and primered.. Now for some vehicle specs: it is 4x4 with auto lockers that can be swapped for manual lockers off some Tacoma's. It's very short wheel base is very capable off-road. It also has a great turning radius, similar to that of a Miata. It gets 20-25 mpg. It will achieve 80mph but it takes forever to get there. It stops reasonably well because the brakes are all new. It has 3 rows of seats. The second row is Captains chairs that can face forward or backwards. Even though the window seals look like they should leak it doesn't have any leaks at all. The rear door will only open from the inside and it sticks a bit from lack of use. It needs a linkage replaced to open from the outside. Also the spider pack that held the climate control adjustment cables is broken (also plastic but you can adjust it from the floor side of the cable), the heat works, the AC is a mystery since I believe it needs a charge but it uses old-school refridgerant but the compressor works and there are no leaks. the radio needs to be replaced (searching for an oem one). I believe that's all of it's quirks. I've never been stranded by it. It's been a great expedition vehicle. I just wish I had lifted it since the parts are the same as most 80s Tacomas. The engine is still being produced so those parts are cheap to come by if you need anything else but mostly everything is new so you shouldnt have to work on it after the idle is fixed. I believe its caused by the cold start injector. Its an easy fix and I replaced all the other parts that control idle while cold.. We also checked compression when we replaced the: rotor, plugs and wires and it was still to factory spec. The inspection is a few months old. Feel free to message me if you have any requests or questions. I am willing to drive it within an hour of the 22801 zip code, but I am only available after 5 M-F and on weekends. If you've made it this far I'd take $3500 for it.
