Vehicle Detail

Pretty well complete bike, missing little that isn't easily available. I acquired it incomplete, and have found most stuff over the last 2 years, and it comes with a clear Canadian title. It is just loosely assembled to show completion, but I stress, a lot of work is needed to prepare this bike for restoration. The frame is a 1949, # 27156, the picture makes it look like two 7's. Engine is a 1948, # T100 8101150, with matching belly numbers. The engine cases are in unusually good shape, with no damage, and all good threads. Not everything fits perfectly and it really needs stripping down completely and restoring, but I'm not going to get to it. There doesn't seem to be any play in the crankshaft, and the internals are complete and free, as is the gearbox, also, the timing cover has been modified to take an oil seal conversion. I used the correct cycle thread fasteners when assembling, and most of what you see is original, except the gas tank, which is a new reproduction with decent chrome, and the oil tank, a reproduction GP tank, not quite correct for the bike, but a 1 gallon tank, and it will work. I couldn't bring myself to cut off the froth tower, it just looks so right, even though it doesn't belong on this model. Front fender is rough, and will need work, and although you can't see it, the toolbox has rusted through on the bottom corner. Speedo is correct for the model, but needle does not move, BTH magneto complete, with a good spark, but auto advance is a poor fit, and might need a replacement. Dynamo motors fine, so should charge. All in all, a perfect winter project. Shipping or pickup is the responsibility of the buyer, but I am willing to do what I can to help with this, including dismantling the bike if required, and I'll even meet at a Buffalo area border crossing if it will help. Payment is by $500 deposit through Paypal upon purchase, balance on pickup, or if it's being shipped, total by Bank transfer to my account. On Nov-06-17 at 04:01:39 PST, seller added the following information: Complete frame number is TF 27156On Nov-06-17 at 12:28:33 PST, seller added the following information: Regarding the engine number, it's been pointed out to me that it has 7 digits, rather than the usual 6. For some obscure reason, Triumph used the model year as a prefix to the engine number on SOME of the early post war models, so to verify the number, drop the 8. They didn't do this religiously, and I have no idea why they did it at all. If someone can offer an explanation, I will be happy to post it.
