1992 Alfa Romeo 164L For Sale 1992 Alfa Romeo 164L 78,000 Miles This is a very nice running and driving 164L. When I bought it I was looking for a 5 Speed like everyone else. I decided to do some online research about the cars and found out that the 5 speeds have a problem with a bearing that tends to fail. Then I read about the ZF 4 speed automatic, what was said is they never heard of one going bad! This car being a 4 door sedan, a automatic transmission seemed proper for the car. The ZF automatic shifts and down shifts very crisp. This is a driver quality car and has a few little cosmetic issues, but nothing too bad. All of the body panels appear to be original from the VIN decals attached to them. It had a cheap repaint prior to my purchase and the bumper paint isn't very good. the power mirrors don't work and you have to push down of the drivers side of the wind deflector for the sunroof to close properly. I did install new drilled and slotted brake rotors all around with ceramic brake pads. I also install a new set of 16" wheels that I purchased from Tire Rack. The air blows cold and the heat blows hot. the climate control works along with the cruise control. When I bought the car it looked as if the heads had been freshly done and the timing belt looked new. I install a new Pioneer stereo with BlueTooth and hands free calling. New speakers were installed at the same time. I have only had the car for a year and a half and have used it as a driver. I am only selling it (and a couple others) because I bought a motorhome and I want to park it inside and need the room.
