This classic bike turns heads and strikes up conversations everywhere I go. There is nothing better than an old R-series in black, in my opinion. I bought it from an aircraft mechanic in Kansas two years ago. As far as my untrained eye can tell it's basically original with the exception of an aftermarket Corbin seat (very comfortable) He had just replaced the head gasket shortly before selling. Since then I have made the following improvements:-rebuilt fork with new seals and progressive springs-new rear tire and tube-all new cables (clutch, throttle, brake)-new plugs and wires-new battery-new fuel lines-rebuilt carbs (new gaskets, o-rings, floats, diaphrams)-new oil sensor-new headlight bulb-replaced valve cover gaskets with rubber typeThe bike comes with a removable lexan fairing, which I never chose to use, since I prefer the naked look, but it is in perfect condition. Installs and removes in two minutes flat. It is equipped with a standard kickstand as well as a roll-off center stand, which is what I prefer to use. It also comes with two black hard cases, which have the obligatory minor stress cracks that have been repaired for water tightness. This is common with these cases. I will also include two soft bags, made of heavy, waterproof, waxed cotton twill and leather. They are made by Pack Animal, and attach with leather straps. You can unclip them in seconds to attach a messenger bag strap and carry them with you. Really cool. They cost me $800 new, but really add the wow factor to the classic styling of the bike.
