Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE! The story of this 1995 Ford Mustang GT Convertible I purchased this vehicle from the original owner on March 11, 2014. From my recollection of the conversation, she ordered the vehicle brand new from Mangold Ford in Eureka, IL. She *really* wanted a "triple black" car, however, black leather interior was on backorder from Ford and she had no desire to wait. Therefore, she selected the grey option instead. If you look at the vehicle history report (which should be a part of this ad), you'll notice that there were years where the vehicle was never even registered. If was parked in a pole barn at her relatives farm. The reason that she sold it was that she was married, had a family, and the car was simply not being used. The day that I drove it out of her driveway, it had exactly 32,800 miles on the odometer. At the time of the sale, she was having difficulty getting the battery to hold a charge, therefore, she installed a new one for me. At the time of purchase, the vehicle was 100% factory stock and other than consumables, remains that way to this day. I drove the car for the first 3 months without issue. At the time, it was showing 35,000 on the odometer and I decided it was time for an oil change and tire rotation. During this process, I notice that the belts on the passenger, rear tire were exposed. I tried and tried to find a matching tire, however, that model was no longer being manufactured. Since I didn't know what I was going to do about tires and wheels (possible update to 18 or 19"), I purchased an inexpensive replacement tire. Well, 3 years and 4 months later, that tire is still on the passenger side of the car. On Dec. 28, 2014, I replaced the other 3 tires and had an alignment performed. At that time, the vehicle had 39K miles on it. Although the tires are the same manufacturer and model, between June and Dec., they changed the sidewall and tread pattern. Therefore, the one purchased in June 2014 is an oddball to the other three. From there, I've simply just drove the car and enjoyed it. I've always put 93 octane gas in it (have every gas receipt to back this up) and changed the oil with 10W-30 (fully synthetic) and FRAM oil filters every 5000 miles (just completed the 60K mile service). My commute to work is 13 miles and includes both country and city driving. The vehicle averages 18 mpg in this type of driving. While I've owned it, it's acquired a ding in the drivers door (see pic). I got caught in the snow during the winter of 2014 and while I was pulling into the garage, the posi slid me into the garage door trim and dented the passenger, rear fender (see pic). When I purchased the vehicle, the owner informed me the A/C didn't work. She informed me that the techs at the dealer stated the evaporator needed replaced and it would cost $800. Since it was a convertible, I didn't concern myself with it until this summer. I took it to my mechanic and after checking the freon, he discovered that the clutch cycling (low side) switch was bad. He added a little freon "rejuvenator" and between that and the $15 part, the A/C now blows ICE COLD! Other notes:1) During the '96-'97 time frame, the owners ex-boyfriend slit the top. I was immediately replaced with new. While I've owned the vehicle, I noticed that the fabric that convertible top fabric that was once attached to the bottom of the rear window no longer is. I don't know if that's an issue or not, however, I wanted to note it within the ad. I also noticed a pencil eraser sized hole in the top. It is located on the drivers side, just behind the rear quarter window. It is down by where the top dives into the body.2) I believe that the lumbar "bag" in the drivers seat has a hole in it. When you press the power lumbar button on the seat, you can hear the motor running, however, the bag never fills. I've had to replace the following items:1) Drivers side, inner door handle (what a HORRIBLE design)2) Drivers side power window switch. It would roll down all 4 windows, however, the rear two didn't want to come back up.3) Coolant overflow bottle (leaked under pressure) Additional items that are included with that sale are:1) Front bra. In an effort to preserve the hood and windshield, I always drove the vehicle with the piece that wrapped around the hood. I NEVER have had the lower portion of the bra on the car.2) Car cover. (Never used it) This vehicle is definitely one that the new owner could fly in and drive home. It's the last year that you could purchase the legendary 5.0 motor. Combine that with a manual, 5-speed transmission and this vehicle is guaranteed to provide the next owner with years of enjoyment. Whether you're a purest or are looking for a nice, clean slate to start with, this is without a doubt the vehicle for you! Both functioning key FOB's and the convertible "parade" boot (with case) are included with the vehicle. The factory spare tire, jack, crow bar, and owner's manual are there as well. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. The ONLY reason that I'm selling the car is that I've purchased an '06 Chevrolet Corvette.
