Vehicle Detail

Selling my dream car - 1996 Dodge Viper GTS. This is one of the earliest GTS's to come off the assembly line - VIN number 30. My wife and I just had our first child and I can no longer keep this amazing machine. I've included a host of details below, please reach out if you have any questions. This car is in fantastic mechanical condition and is beautiful. It has 66,xxx miles and runs like a champion. It's been lovingly cared for its entire life - never seen salt or abuse, and is stored in a climate controlled garage. As with many Viper owners, I am very diligent and meticulous about maintenance - you can see more info on that below. Any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. Viper Details: I'm the third owner. The initial owner was the President of the Colorado Viper Club and picked it up from Connor Ave Assembly Plant himself. I have the original window sticker and pictures of it on the assembly line. He eventually moved from Colorado to MN and was the owner of the car for most of its life. In 2011 he sold the car to the second owner in Texas. This was a father/son group who owned it for just two years. They had 2 Vipers and the father fell ill and the son got contract work overseas and weren't able to drive them much. I purchased her from them in the fall of 2013. There are about 66,000 miles on her. The car is almost entirely stock - I have made a few changes primarily to help with longevity: - Replaced the catalytic converters with mid-flow cats to held reduce side sill heat - Replaced power steering pulley with metal version as the plastic one fails and can wreck the motor - Pinned the crank shaft as from the factory it doesn't have a crank key and if the crank bolt comes loose it can damage the engine - Replaced dipstick and dipstick tube with 1997 model as the 1996's are known for seeping oil. I have the originals. - Came with a short stalk on the shifter (not a short shifter, just a shorter stalk under the handle). I have the original - HID headlight upgrade - came on the car, but improves night visibility immensely so I left it - Battery tender cord installed in drivers side gill for easy plug in - Upper & lower radiator hoses replaced with black matching silicon versions (I have the originals)- I put the Transformers Autobot sticker on the original gas cap as my little personal touch - easily removed without a mark Maintenance wise she's in great shape. None of the stuff I've done have I ever waited until things wore out - this was all preventative maintenance based on age or just doing it because I enjoyed working and want it all to be fresh: - New stock Luk clutch as of 2 summers ago. - New stock motor & transmission mounts 2 summers ago - Transmission and Diff fluid changes 2 summers ago - Regularly grease ball joints etc. - Power steering fluid change 2 summers ago - Regular oil changes with Mobil 1 0w-40 full synthetic - New plugs and plug wires (Quality brand wires, oem plugs) as of 3 summers ago. - New tensioner pulley and serpentine belt as of last summer. - New harmonic balancer as of 2 summers ago (when I pinned the crank) - New Die Hard battery last summer - A/C recharge this summer (probably has a very slow leak as I've done this every couple years) - Coolant flush last summer - I had all the mesh pocket elastic in the interior refreshed because after 20 years, most cars have it looking like a gross saggy mess- The 998 recall was completed (this was done with the original owner when the recall came out) to reinforce the steering rack cross member and it was done correctly (not blocking the oil filter) Body wise she is also in very good condition. The original owner had installed a Hennessy wing. I found that hideous. I removed it and had the holes repaired by a Viper body specialist (Heather at Hemi Auto Works in WI). She did a perfect job and there is absolutely no trace of them nor the work that was done - (though that means the rear quarters were painted). The car has had a clear bra on the front for it's entire life so the front is very clean. Down at the very bottom of passenger front wheel well, there is a small scrape where one of the previous owners must have rubbed the corner of a curb (you can see if you look close in the pics above). The car is also for sale locally and will be taken down if it sells.
