I love this 4Runner and put a lot into maintenance, but with a family we don't have the time for the occasional nuisances of owning an older vehicle. For the first few years I had periodic trouble with the CEL and A/F sensor, especially after the first transmission rebuild in 2010. A SECOND transmission rebuild in 2015 completely resolved the CEL and A/F sensor issues. Known work needed: Needs repaint (sun faded). Body otherwise in good condition. Power door locks unlock fine but do not lock (requires manual locking). Research points to "TOYOTA OEM 01-02 4Runner Instrument Panel-Junction Block 8273035320" but no promises. Chip in windshield (see photos). Broken turn signal (front left). Water did leak through moonroof in April 2016. Moon roof does not operate. Motor engages but rails may be rusted. Interior temp control knob is imprecise. Alarm is finicky, so I leave the valet switch on. Remote start is finicky/unreliable but I've never needed it. Timeline of maintenance work (since I purchased in 2006): 2006 - Replaced catalytic converter and Air fuel ratio sensor 2010 - Rebuilt transmission, new tires 2013 - Pads & rotors, timing belt, crank seal, water pump, rear cat converter 2014 - A/F sensor, gas cap, solenoid, spark plugs, pads, shims, rotors, steering rack & pinion, shocks Sept 2015 - Rebuilt transmission (Spiteri's in Belmont, CA) On Sep-09-17 at 08:56:21 PDT, seller added the following information: A few people asked to clarify the sunroof issue. In April 2016, the sunroof wasn't fully closed and then it rained, and the mechanism seized up shortly after. It doesn't leak.
