Up for auction is a 1972 Jeep cj5. The jeeps runs and drives good but keep in mind it is a 45 year old vehicle. drum brakes. old steering with some slack in it. leaks some oil. However, with that being said it is fun to drive and very powerful. 304 v8 engine with 3 speed manual transmission. new starter. new battery. new alternator. new solenoid. new edelbrock 600cfm carb. edelbrock intake. aftermarket gas tank. full headers with hooker brand mufflers. At some point in its life there has been some welding around the frame and engine mount on the passenger side. There is some rust in the passenger floorpan but the frame and most of the body is very solid. The Jeep has recently been painted with 2k primer/sealer, 3 coats base , and 2 coats clear....I never wet sanded it because i like the look with a little texture. It's a driver or trail vehicle not a show car. The fog lights still need to be wired up. The seats are original with some cracks but comes with jeep brand seat covers.... New seats are $130 a piece. I tried to leave most of the chasis original to show its condition....possibly oneday the jeep could undergo a frame off restoration but for now its a good driving vehicle that someone could improve while still driving it.
