Vehicle Detail

Here we have a 1996 Camaro Z28 SS with 3779 actual miles. Yes, only 3779 miles! I only drive this car a few weekends out of the year when the weather is nice. This is SS #989 out of roughly 2200 SS’s built in 1996. I ordered the car new in October 1995 and took delivery of the car March 15, 1996 at Bobb Chevrolet on Livingston Road in Columbus, Ohio. I am the only owner of this car. This car has spent it’s entire life in my climate controlled garage with my collection of cars and has NEVER been in the rain or snow. This car still has the new car smell interior! Everything on the car is original except for the battery. The 1996 Camaro Z28 SS was the first year of these cars from GM. These cars were special ordered from a Chevrolet dealer as a Z28 with the R7T option (SS option). GM would then build these Z28’s and then ship them to SLP (Street Legal Performance) for the conversion to an SS to enhance the handling and increase the horsepower (I have added a photo of the window sticker with all the added options from SLP). Here are the Power train components from the factory and SLP: 5.7 L V8 engine with 305 advertised horsepower Composite hood with functional air scoop Underhood forced air induction system Revised rear decklid spoiler BFGoodrich Comp T/A 275/40ZR17 tires 17”x9” ZR1-styled cast aluminum alloy wheels Level 1 upgraded suspension components which includes larger front anti-sway bar and rear track bar. Synthetic engine oil Cloisonne sequentially-numbered interior plaque (verifies production number of each Z28 SS) 3-dimensional SS graphics replace Z28 badges along with numbered key chains. Additional SS Options ordered: Hurst 6 speed manual shifter Performance exhaust system to generate 305 horsepower Level 2 Bilstein sport suspension package Torsen Torque Sensing Limited Slip differential with AAM aluminum rear axle cover with 3.42 posi Premium front floor mats Performance Lubricants Package. These cars were being built to compete with the Mustang Cobra’s in racing. This car has an advertised horsepower rating of 305 but feels more like 450! I have also added a picture of the base Z28 window sticker to show all the other options. The only options I did not get from SLP was the optional car cover and second set of SS wheels with racing tires. I did have an appraisal done in 2001 on this car and set the reserve below the appraised value. This car drives and handles like a dream. Everything works on the car and is like driving a brand new one. Pick up only in Newark, Ohio. Please ask any questions prior to bidding…happy bidding.
