1964 Chevelle Malibu SS. This is a numbers matching, true SS car. One of 56,642 hardtops made for 1964. Built in Fremont, CA in February of 1964, the original car featured the 283 power pack (4 barrel carb, dual exhaust and 327 heads) w/automatic transmission and power steering. Rated at 220 horsepower @ 4800 RPM. Prior to my ownership, major work was done in approximately, 2003. At that time, the engine was rebuilt to 292 cubic inches, holley 600 cfm carb added (using original manifold), mild cam, 2 1/2 inch exhaust, front disc brake conversion, and some interior replacement pieces (kick panels, probable seat covers, stereo). In 2014, the car was re-painted, some engine dress-up pieces added and new interior carpeting. Nearly all of the exterior chrome pieces are original. I have owned the car for 3 years and have done the following:- Wet sanded and buffed entire body- Paint detailing in engine compartment, trunk and undercarriage- New Holley 600cfm carb.- As shown: 1974 Camaro Z/28 wheels mounted on B F Goodrich T/A tires (235/60 15) w/knock-offs- Exhaust re-location- Polished side chrome- Installed 1991 Lumina Steering Wheel (original wheel included)- Installed Tachometer- New battery: 7/2016- (4) B F Goodrich tires (215/65 15, with approx. 500 miles) mounted on steel wheels w/ dog dish hub caps (included in sale) The Malibu performs very well and has been well taken care of and always garaged during my ownership.
