Purchased this car in 2008 with about 88,000 miles on it. Was our main daily driver until September of 2014. Following work done a few months prior to parking car: New Plugs, wires and ignition coils. New Ignition module. Removed all injectors and flushed with injection cleaner. replaced injector seals when re-installed. Has about 5000 miles on new Firestone tires that were installed in 2014. Transmission was Rebuilt at 100,888 miles by a local Transmission shop (Steve's Transmissions in Myerstown, PA). Cost over $3400. Have documentation. (NOT QUITE 66K MILES ON REBUILT TRANSMISSION) New Catalytic Converter installed around 120K miles. NOW THE BAD: Car over heated on way home from work about 5 miles from home. My worst fear was the dreaded head gasket failure of the Northstar engine. Left car sit and cool went back for it later in evening. filled the radiator level with fluid and drove home. when I got home I looked for a leak and found fluid pouring from behind the passenger side wheel in front of passenger door. Appeared to be in the firewall area. Talking with my mechanic he indicated that it sounded like possibly the heater coor went bad and the fluid I saw could have been draining out the condensation line from the heater coor leaking. I usually do my own vehicle maintenance unless it is a major job. car sat for awhile waiting for me to tear out heater coor. Did not have time and never got around to it. Just recently bought another Cadillac to replace this one. Now it is time for this one to go. Car was PA inspected one month prior to overheating incident. Sat on concrete driveway since. Just charged battery, checked tire air pressure and filled radiator fluid. Fired up and runs. drove around my property.
