Vehicle Detail

I am selling a really unique muscle car that you don't run across that often anymore! This is an unrestored "Survivor" 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400! What makes it really special is that it was owned by one lady owner who bought it new and had it until she gave up driving at age 93! She passed away soon after and I acquired the car from her daughter who was in the process of liquidating items from her mother's estate. Car is equipped with all its original features including the Code "YT" Pontiac 400/330HP 4BBL engine that it was born with in 1968! Car has been maintained by the same mechanic and shop for 47 years, ever since factory warranty expired. It has always been garaged, maintained, and cared for. It has less than 92,000 actual miles since new that were carefully accumulated. I have the original manuals, Protecto-Plate, warranty book, bill of sale, and documentation of the history of the car. It is equipped as follows: 1. Firebird "400" option (400/330HP), 160MPH speedometer, and 400 badging and trim 2. Black "Cordova" vinyl top (still in excellent condition) 3. Automatic transmission 4. Heavy duty "Saf T Track" rear end (positraction) 5. AM radio 6. Door edge guards 7. Mirror group 8. Rally 2 wheels 9. Console and floor shift 10. Bucket seats 11. Console clock 12. Power steering & brakes 13. Soft Ray tinted glass 14. Custom trim and deluxe interior 15. FOLDING REAR SEAT (Very rare factory option) 16. Custom trim and deluxe interior 17. Heavy duty air cleaner and chrome kit on engine (factory) 18. Code K Meridian Turquoise exterior color with matching aqua interior. This car is un-restored to the point that it still has its original "Wide Oval" spare tire with thin white stripe. Also, engine compartment is still original, even still has all its original decals. Only things that have been changed are regular maintenance items. Interior is also original, NOT reproduction. I would note the following items: 1. Like most of this era Pontiac with deluxe interiors, the molded arm rest on the driver's door panel has some cracks in the vinyl as seen in the pictures. Also, she has some Velcro on the arm rest, which I believe was for a drink holder. I have not been brave enough to try and pull it up for fear of causing more damage to the panel. Reproduction door panels are available at reasonable cost. You will want to eventually want to replace this one. 2. The back rest on the driver's bucket seat has a small panel in the lower left corner that has a tear as shown. You can just have an upholstery shop sew in and replace that 1 small panel. Teal vinyl is available at modest cost. 3. About 23 years ago, the car was repainted in the original color. It still holds a good shine, and looks nice, but on close inspection there are some small scratches, nicks, and other blemishes that would be expected on a 50 year old used car, even one that has been taken care of. Definitely looks very presentable to drive and take to cruise-ins and have fun, but obviously not show quality. 4. Only feature I found that did not work is the clock, which is pretty well par for the course on this era car. Driver's door probably needs some adjustment as it closes a bit hard at times. 5. Chrome bumpers, trim, and bright work are all really nice and shiny, not pitted or damaged. 6. Car has been serviced regularly and has been tuned up, carburetor gone through, belts, hoses, tune-up, brakes, tires, muffler replaced, etc. Car starts right up, fast idle and choke work. Engine is strong and powerful, doesn't smoke. Transmission is strong, and shifts crisply. Car holds the road nicely and is fun to drive. I put 100 miles on it this weekend. 7. Please realize that 1960's cars are NOT 2017 cars. Even when new, these "pony cars", especially the ones with big blocks had squeaks, rattles, noisiness, and harsh rides compared to today's cars. Please adjust your expectations accordingly. 8. This car is registered in New York State. NY does NOT issue titles for cars 1972 and older. They issue a transferable registration that is signed over just like a title. You will receive one of these, plus ownership assignment/bill of sale. Please be sure this is OK in your state BEFORE you commit to buy! Here is an opportunity to buy a lady owned "Survivor" documented muscle car from the 1960's that has NEVER been thrashed or abused by a teenager! And for UNDER $15K! How often does that happen in today's collector car market??? This is one that you can enjoy now and restore to your satisfaction at your own pace! Don't miss it! Please call with any questions or concerns. Landline is 518-604-4181. Cell is 704-661-1326. NOTE: Cell does not work when I am home, no towers nearby. Best to call both and leave word at both. Now for the rules: 1. Your bid is a contract! Please have you money in place, get permission from your significant other, and all other contingencies handled BEFORE YOU BID. If you bid, you are expected to pay and complete the transaction. 2. A NON REFUNDABLE $500 deposit must be paid through Pay Pal immediately with BUY IT NOW. Balance is due within 7 days of purchase and must be cash, bank wire transfer (preferred), or certified funds. 3. Car and ownership documents will not leave here until paid in full with collected cleared funds. 4. Car is sold AS/IS, no warranty at my location. Transportation is your responsibility as buyer. I will help you all I can but it is still your responsibility to arrange transportation. 5. Car can remain here for a reasonable amount of time, but still must be paid for within 7 days. Also, upon buying, you should secure insurance as I cannot be responsible for things beyond my control or acts of God. 6. If you are an international buyer, you must still pay the $500 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT and balance is due in US funds by wire transfer within 7 days. 7. Again, car is located in upstate New York. This state does not issue titles for cars 1972 and older. You will receive a transferable NY registration, plus ownership assignment/bill of sale. Please be sure this is OK with your state BEFORE you commit to buy. 8. Please ask and get satisfactory answers to all questions BEFORE YOU BID! You can call me at: Landline 518-604-4181 OR Cell 704-661-1326. NO TEXTS! Please realize that cell does not work at my home, so best to call both and leave word at both. 9. If you have questions, it is best to call. I am away from my computer a lot, and often don't have time for lengthy e-mails, especially if there are several questions to be answered. I am not a technology person. I am sorry for all the rules, but it seems that 5% of people who don't pay attention spoil things for the 95% who are good. Thanks for looking!
