This Corvette looks awesome, runs well, and drives great. The drivetrain on this Corvette is completely "Numbers Matching" with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the engine pad, which is pictured below, and the engine is original to the car. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured below. We have this car priced to sell and are offering an excellent opportunity to own a very desirable Corvette at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on C2 "mid-year" Corvettes from 1963 to 1967 is absolutely red hot right now and on the rise. Please peruse all of the photos, video, list of numbers, and other information below to get a true sense of how nice and correct this Corvette really is. This Sting Ray was purchased from a Corvette enthusiast in Northern Kentucky. After purchasing the car in Texas she owned it for over 16 years and during that she time took excellent care of the car. When I picked it up the car ran so well and the weather was nice so I simply drove it back to shop putting over 50 miles on the car. It had no issues at all, received a ton of attention, and was a pleasure to drive. As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call. model description 1965 was a historic year for mid-years and Corvettes as a whole. The most significant refinement was the addition of standard 4 wheel disc brakes. This was a drastic improvement over braking systems in all years before beloved by magazine testers and racers alike. This truly brought Corvettes into the realm of the world class sports car with such makes as Jaguar Shelby. Other changes to the 1965 model year included a restyling of the front side louvers to three vertical slots, functional for brake cooling. Also, the hood was redesigned to a more sleek design with no cut outs or bulky trim. numbers Please note when checking the numbers that not only do the correct stampings and casting numbers appear on the parts, but all of the dates are also chronologically correct. This means that all of the parts were made and assembled in the correct order. For example, all of the dates for the individual engine components and the engine casting date should obviously precede the assembly date of the engine because the parts had to be produced before they could be assembled. All of the parts I checked follow this rule and are dated correctly. item number description* VIN 194675S103886 The first digit, "1," indicates the Chevrolet division of GM. Colvin's Corvette by the Numbers and Mike Antonick's Corvette Black Book. condition Exterior The Red exterior is in great driver condition. As one can see in the photos, the finish has dazzling gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely. The wheels and correct 1965 Corvette hubcaps are in excellent condition with a great finish and no curb rash. The whitewall tires are literally brand new with less than 20 miles on them. The chrome and other bright work shows well. The black convertible top is in nice condition; the rear window is not yellow or foggy. It operates well, but as with many C2's the rear latches are finicky. There are a some small spots and other blemishes around car that were too tiny to show up in pictures, but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. There is a blemish in the paint near the left door handle with a specific photo below. There are specific photos of the areas on the frame most prone to rust. We have included many photos of the underside to show how nice and clean it looks. The car looks as good in person as it does in the photos. Interior The Black interior of the Corvette is in terrific condition. The seats look virtually brand new with no excessive wear, rips, or split seams. The carpet is in good condition condition as well with no stains or holes. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The door panels are in excellent condition and almost look new. The radio works and most importantly it is a Corvette Specific unit made for this car so the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. The dash and console are in good shape with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The chrome and brightwork inside the car also looks very nice. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burn marks and no aroma of cigarettes at all. The interior looks as good in person as it does in the photos. Mechanical This Corvette seems to be in great mechanical condition. It starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. I have personally put over 50 miles on this Sting Ray and during that time it was completely reliable and a pleasure to drive. The car is a great driver that feels nice the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that the car performs quite well overall. There is no smoke when starting or driving. The car runs cool and does not overheat. The transmission does not pop out of gear and the shifter is tight. The clutch feels good. The brakes are responsive. The car is also aided and much easier to drive as it has power steering. This Corvette has plenty of power and is quite fast. Also, the engine compartment is clean and detailed as one can see in the photos. Both headlights go up and down properly and with no binding the mechanism, which is a very common problem on this era Corvette. Their complete operation can be viewed in the video below. The horn works as do the wipers, radio, and all of the gauges work. The speedometer works fine, but the odometer does not. The blower for the heater does not work. Not enough can be said as to how much fun it is to drive this car, especially with 4-Speed and the top down on a beautiful day. The car runs and drives as well as it looks. Overall Condition Overall, this 1965 Corvette is in wonderful driver condition. Mid-year (C2) Corvettes are, and will continue to be, the most collectable and desirable Corvette generation. They are all solid investments for a collector. Numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing and as one can see, this car is very correct. There are photos below of the VIN stamp on the engine block, suffix code, engine assembly date, transmission date, and transmission VIN stamp. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
