Vehicle Detail

Background: I bought this on a Lemon Lot a few months ago from a guy who was trying to move it fast. He and his brother were the second owners after they inherited it from their father from what I understand. It was garaged for 15 years by their father and has been an Alabama car for its life as far as I know. Odometer incorrectly shows 38020. I have it on good understanding from the previous owner that is more like 88000. This vehicle is not titled as it is not required for a vehicle of this age in Alabama. Exterior Condition: This car is in pretty good condition. The exterior is in good condition. The highlight is the vinyl top which is nearly flawless. The paint is holding up well with a patina. There are small scratches that are documented in the pictures, and there are a few faded areas that are shown in the picture. It comes with original hubcaps and badges which are in great condition. The headlight covers don't work, and there are some cracks in the front right insignia position light. Interior Condition: The interior is awesome. The old bench seats haven't worn through, but there are a few broken seams shown in the pictures. The dash has some cracks as well as the steering wheel. The only non-original thing is the manual choke shown in the pictures where the cigarette lighter used to be. The speedometer, fuel level gauges, and AC do not work. However, the electric seats and windows work which is a miracle for a car this old. Mechanical Condition: It has an after-market four barrel Edelbrock Carb, but it will come with the original as pictured. I did not install the carb, but I did install the manual choke because the carb was set up for it and had trouble starting because it was always wide open. Currently you will see the belts off because I am putting a new fuel pump in it. The 440 V8 runs smooth and sounds great through the split exhaust. There is a bit of a vacuum tube mess in the engine compartment with a lot of dead ends. I did a break flush and replaced the rotors which were cross threaded and the brakes feel really good now for such a heavy car. Bottom Line: This is a pretty rare Imperial and I am looking to get this to an Imperial enthusiast so it won’t get stripped for the engine. It comes with a tall jack, a car cover, and quite a few original parts such as the carb and fuel pump. Let me know if you have any questions or want access to more pictures.
