Vehicle Detail
This Range Rover needs one enthusiast to bring it's potential back. I was going to restore this vehicle, however I made the mistake of letting it sit through the winter and now it has trouble starting. My fault...It does start but idles poorly. In my estimation not drive-able at this time. No rust as the body is Aluminum and the undercarriage is very clean. The body is straight with a few dings. Doors are tight and locking mechanism works fine. Sunroof works but needs lubrication. Brakes are good. The clear coat on the hood is peeling but the rest of the car is fine. All exterior light work including the rear tailgate release button. The former owner spent $5,500 on upgrading the existing suspension to Bilstein shocks and springs from Atlantic British which also lifted the Range Rover about 6 inches. Former owner also spent about $1,000 on new NITTO all terrain “Terra Grappler tires 255/55R/18 which have about 90% tread left all on 18 inch rims in picture including an extra full size identical rim in trunk. According to the seller he had the engine rebuilt under warranty at about 90 thousand miles. I called Land Rover to check on the rebuild, however they no longer had any records on that. They did say that all the update recalls were done to their knowledge. Today it has about 205K miles. The engine ran without any issues until this spring. Now it starts but idles poorly. Should have put more gas in tank I think otherwise Very tight mechanically. Now for the issues. Small leak in the power steering line. The driver door window motor is out but I have the motor. The inside driver door latch does not work. The transmission shifts fine through the gears and goes into the lower range, however when you go to a stop the transmission goes into neutral and you have to manually shift into low then back to drive to begin. I am told that is a common problem and is usually a shift linkage issue. The interior seats are pretty good except for the driver bottom. The power seats electrically operate. Carpet ok but the pillar post and headliner needs recovering. Glove box needs repair The former owner used his own technique for repairing and so ( for example ) he used a pull cable to release the interior driver door rather than buy a replacement part. I have replaced an O2 sensor and repaired another one on the other side which was why the engine was running rich and I just replaced the starter motor so the engine cranks over very nicely. I also replaced the bulbs in the dash cluster and as expected am receiving a lot of codes so that is enough for me as I have no decoder. In summary all I can say is that this Range Rover is well built and structurally strong throughout. Mechanically the engine by all accounts is excellent and the transmission shifts. The car has not been driven more than 5 miles before it sat through the winter. I hope that someone now takes the time to make a great runner out of it as I wanted to. Range Rover is being sold “as is”. I will be glad to answer any questions or if possible get additional pictures to you. Good luck bidding! Thanks for your consideration...
