Vehicle Detail
No Reserve. This is my 1999 Porsche 911 Coupe with 76200 miles which I'm selling because baby number three is on the way. It was just serviced last fall at Porsche of Syracuse where they also did a brake bleed and coolant flush. It has much of the original paperwork, posters etc that came with the car new. One key. I purchased the car from a mechanic and Porsche enthusiast and it has been very well maintained. Worry free duel row IMS bearing. I have a stack of receipts for work and parts. Engine compartment and trunk look new, spare is unused and all tools are there. Shifts and drives lovely. I also settled on the Tiptronic with the steering wheel sport shift. I personally prefer it. Every manual 996 I drove had some degree of clutch problem so don't fear the Tiptronic, it drives very nice. Car is in good condition, the body has minor age related scratches and dings etc. Driver door has been repainted, some cracks in the clear on the nose. Center console looks to be repainted. Console lid is loose but functions and locks. A/C blows very cold. No tears in leather, passenger seat looks almost new. Spare tire and jack are still new and original tool kit is there. Just passed NY inspection. PPI's welcome. This car looks and drives as it should. If you are looking for a well cared for 996, look no further! Great everyday 911. Check out my walk around video at the bottom. I am 5 minutes from Syracuse Airport if you want to fly in and drive it home. If you would like to put some or all of the final payment on a credit card, that would be fine as long as you add 4% for the transaction fee. It should be done yearly so yes it will need it.-As per the dealer maintenance inspection, the rear brakes are good, front are decent and the tires pass inspection but will need to be replaced within the next 5000. If you want to purchase the vehicle history report, go for it but I have the report from when I bought it and can give you the basics, the only change would be me titling the car and I do have some pertinent info: All title and odometer checks came back with 0 problems, the calculated owners came back at 8 but I can tell by the records that one of the owners titled it three times from moving out of state and two were dealers trading inventory. So a more accurate owner history aside from dealers is probably more like 5. The car hasn't been auction stripped like you see with others, still has all the original spare parts and paperwork that so the owner calculation is likely high. Two minor accidents are show on the report:04/14/2006 Dayton, OH - Minor accident reported: NON-COLLISION09/14/2010 New Castle, PA - Damage reported: FRONT CENTER The first was damage done to the drivers side door which you can see has been repainted. The front center damage was likely just the bumper. The trained eye can see the hood, trunk tub and front fenders are all original with no repair work done. PPI is "pre-purchase inspection". The buyer does this, not me. It also means before you bid, not after. Just so everyone is on the same page, the 996 is far from easy when it comes to maintenance. Anyone who has owned one knows the common quirks but I'll give you some insight. These cars go through brakes and tires much quicker than a normal car. They need to have expensive things like coolant flushes, brake bleeds and $175 oil changes done every year. This is a high performance car with many delicate internal parts that don't like old dirt fluids. Codes pop up all the time so it pays to get a code scanner to save some time. A common one that this car has had before is the airbag light from a seatbelt sensor. The sensors in the seatbelt buckle itself corrode very easy and gives you light on the dash. The sunroof switch works but need to be pushed a couple times to get it to activate, again this is very common. The IMS bearing is a non-issue. Go on reddit /r/porsche or other 996 forums and ask round. That said, it's a 19 year old German car, things happen but thats all part of the fun of being in the Porsche family. Buy a code scanner.
