Vehicle Detail
1972 Honda Trail CT70 K1 150cc Daytona 55+ MPH!! I’ve owned several Honda CT70’s in the past but this one is by-far my favorite! Stock ones are nice but they just don’t have the power to safely keep up with traffic. Sure, you can pop a big motor in them, but if you don’t properly update the rest of the bike they ride and stop like crap. This Honda Trail CT70 has gone through an amazing ground-up, $5000+ high dollar, no expense spared; nut and bolt “resto-mod” build! It is street legal with a clear New York State Title and has gone through a complete New York State inspection. Everything works as it should. It has been tastefully customized using all the right high-quality premium parts. The buyer gets every paper involved in the build so you will know where every single part came from. Always meticulously maintained, carefully adult driven and garage stored. This AWARD WINNING bike is a huge hit at local car & bike shows and cruise nights. If you don’t like attention, this bike is not for you. It draws a crowd wherever it goes. The frame was stripped completely bare; shot blasted and professionally painted the beautiful 1969 Candy Gold color. Decals were carefully placed and protected with a durable PPG urethane clear coat. All hardware is high-quality stainless steel. It also has a helmet lock and a lifting handle. The entire electrical system has been upgraded; no brittle old Honda stuff. I just installed a brand new sealed NAPA battery. For those of you that are not familiar with the term, “resto-mod” (restoration + modern parts/technology) draws from all the amazing advancements in today’s technology to enhance the performance, comfort and safety of a classic vehicle. A resto-mod has an appearance similar to the original, but the outdated parts of the bike have been replaced with the more modern, high-performance and top-quality parts of today. You achieve the same great look, but your vintage bike will be revved up with all the latest bells and whistles to create a much better ride for the owner. Because of this, Resto-mods typically increase in value and command higher resale values in today’s market. RIDE FAST - RIDE FAR: I’m 6 foot 250lbs and it cruises me around comfortably at the 50-60 mph range. You might be able to get it to go even faster if you like. You will fully appreciate the craftsmanship of this bike while the ride quality and handling will have you grinning ear to ear! The windshield and tour pack can be removed if you prefer a more bare-bones look. The sleek removable windshield acts more like an aerodynamic fairing to help you swiftly cut through the wind. It still has the stock 0.4 gallon tank under the seat but it also has an old-school “dragster/moon gasser-style” 2.5 gallon keg tank mounted in a removable Shad 40L top box with a comfy backrest. You don’t have to worry about running out of gas on longer rides AND people really get a kick out of it when you open up the cover and show them this cool little feature. Also, you can pop your gloves and sweater in there and you won’t have to strap on your back pack. This Honda CT70 has been upgraded with the famous and reliable Daytona 150cc engine. Most engines out there are Chinese replicas and none of them meet the quality, reliability and durability of Daytona. Daytona Corporation is not a Chinese company, they are a Japanese company (daytona-global.com) established in 1972. They ARE much more expensive but the metallurgy and quality control is superior, parts are readily available and they have a solid bullet-proof reputation for long engine life. Derek Costella, the famous BBR (Brown Brothers Racing) factory bike rider, has won FIRST PLACE titles in AMA Championships using Daytona engines with his BBR MM12P bikes in the Las Vegas MiniMoto SX! The original CT70 engine was 5 hp. The Daytona has 12.5:1 compression and more than three times the horsepower! It features a top-of-the-line four speed transmission, kick-start, CDI, 28mm Keihin carb, K&N filter, and a high performance exhaust. The 10-core oil cooler keeps this big engine running smooth and at the right temperature. RIDE SMOOTH – RIDE SAFE: For a smoother and safer ride, it has a heavy-duty wider-stance male-slider fork with tapered roller head bearings, air/oil rear shocks and larger light-weight aluminum wheels with 120/90-10 Michelin Reggae performance tires and a hydraulic front disk brake. The handlebars look stock and still fold like CT70 bars, but they are both taller and wider and more suitable for an adult. When I rode my older bikes, I realized that unfortunately most motorists have no idea what hand signals mean anymore. That is why it is REALLY nice to have a CT70 with turn signals and mirrors. The original speedo had a 50 mph max so it eventually failed. It was replaced with a KPH one good to 80 mph so that problem is solved. The bike has about 1,500 miles on it, but may go up a bit since I still ride it. ______________________________________________________________________________ Winning bidder must make a PayPal Deposit of US $500.00 immediately.
