Vehicle Detail

I am having to part with a really great car. This is a fully loaded 1995 Mercedes E320 wagon. I spent months searching for a clean example. I found this very nice car which needed a minor repair and I thought I had bought well for $8500 almost 2 years ago. I am being transferred to England (if it were Germany I’d be bringing this car with me!) Polar white with light gray interior. No accidents. Clean car fax. No engine or warning lights. AC blows COLD. For those who are specifically looking for a Mercedes Wagon, the 1995 E320 really was the best until at least 2005, maybe 2007. If you followed the Diamler Benz Chrysler years you understand that these 1995 cars were near the last of the hand-built GERMAN Mercedes of yore. These cars solid, refined and bullet-proof. They drive more like a sports sedan with 217 hp from what some say is the best motor Mercedes ever built, the in-line 3.2 liter 6 cyl (M104). Torquey and smooth, the car was designed for high-speed driving while carrying 7 people! So, if you have $20K to spend on a MB wagon, you should look for a 2007 or newer. But don’t be fooled for what appears to be a nicer 2001 or 2004 wagon for less than this car. You’ll pay that price twice over in a year on repairs. Look it up. When I moved the car to TX, it failed emissions. I took it immediately to a German car specialist and had a thorough review. I knew it needed a differential seal and had a little seepage from the trans pan but since this was going to be my daily driver, I wanted to bring it up to snuff. The O2 sensor was bad so it was replaced. I did a full tune – plugs, wires, air filter and oil change. Performed a full transmission service and had the upper and lower radiator hoses replaced. Since I was in TX, I wanted to make sure the cooling system was perfect so I had a new fan and fan clutch installed, had the cooling system flushed and we found a pin hole in the expansion tank so I replaced that and the cap. One more emissions test barely failed so I ended up installing a new catalytic. If you run a car with a bad O2 for too long, you’ll burn out the cat. Bummer. I have since driven the car about 12K miles. Over that time, I replaced the water pump, serpentine belt and tensioner, oil level sender unit and a throttle spring. At 129K the speedometer stopped. I found a replacement gauge cluster with 136K and had it installed. An OEM was $$$. So, the car says 139K now but I have the work receipt to show actual mileage is 7K less. I have ALL receipts for this work I listed above.I have photos of the wiring harness that show part # MB 124 540 4230 which I think means that the wiring harness has been replaced. That's what I found when I google that part number. I don't have receipts for that work but it's good to know. Of course, I just put 4 new tires on it right before I got the word I am shipping out. I have about $13K in this car. I am offering it for $9K OBO. This is the classic case of “buy the car some other guy just spent his money on”. I just want it to go to a driver and car person who appreciates what this car is. It’s a car that should see 250K – 275K before it’s retired… The pictures tell the story. It’s clean. I get compliments on it. It is a 1995 so it’s not perfect. There are a few small blemishes on the paint (biggest chip is on side molding under gas filler), a few small cracks on interior plastic. The worst condition is the vinyl around the center console and the two door panel map pockets. Just around the edges the vinyl has lifted due to some shrink in the material. It’s all there but you can see the imperfection. There is a small crack in the driver’s seat. Really good for a 1995 driver. The only things mechanically that don’t work are the analog clock, the driver’s headrest adjustment motor and the center vent’s on/off adjustment knob. The AC blows cold. The car has heated seats, third-row bench in the trunk to seat 7, a factor CD changer, sunroof, ABS, airbags, traction control, the winter package which includes the heated washer fluid reservoir, headlamp washers, and override for snow chains. It also has a factor roof rack and the cargo net and cargo cover. There is a factory first aid kit in the trunk as well as a full-size spare. And, finally, there is a hilarious first-generation dealer installed cup holder on the driver’s door. I use it but it’s kinda comical. I have loads more pictures and a copy of the car fax I can email interested buyers. I have the manuals and two working keys.I will obtain 3 bids for shipping for you. I shipped car when I purchased it. 1,900 miles for $700. You can ship to most places in US for under $1K. Thanks for looking!
