Introduced in 1978 as a 1979 model, the Honda CBX topped its competitors with a six cylinder dual overhead camshaft engine. This motorcycle has enormous power, according to Honda's literature from it's introduction date. The motorcycle listed here has had one owner, his widow, doesn't ride and wants to sell the motorcycle to a deserving individual who can enjoy it. The motorcycle has only 28,300 miles on it, hasn't been ridden in over 2 years, but still starts. The owner keeps the battery connected to a trickle charger and a friend of hers starts it at least once a month to circulate lubricants, etc. The motorcycle is located about 25 miles East of Sparks Nevada at a private residence, kept covered and protected from the elements. The 1979 model CBX is the first and, at the time, most powerful and fastest production motorcycle in the world. This motorcycle has some scratches and a dent that was part of the replacement gas tank. I've been told, that since the tank replacement was hard to find, the owner had the tank replaced with a used one that had a dent in it, versus a brand-new tank that would have cost $800 more, so it's being sold as-is. As the motorcycle is operational, only local pickup is offered and you will not be able to take possession of the motorcycle until I have notified the seller of the funds being received, so, before you bid, make sure you have the funds available. I have seen 1 or 2 listed on eBay and they all went for $9,000 and up, so the starting price and even "Buy it Now" prices are very reasonable. Considering the low mileage, this one should be a steal. I've corrected the mileage, must have had a bout of dyslexia, the correct mileage is now listed, I had accidently switched the 8 and the 3. The owner is also replacing the battery before it's sold.
