I thought about listing this as a parts car, but it’s currently titled, registered, and daily driven by me. I’ve owned the car for three or four years and had two others. This was my first CVT, not manual. Lifetime MPG 46.2. With the IMA battery almost completely dead, my current gas mileage is down to about 45. CVT transmission was replaced by Honda less than 10,000 miles ago. Car suffered a hit and run on the driver’s side front; cracked fender, hood is tied down, but all lights work, and very drivable. Fair to good tires, power windows and door locks work, engine original to the car still runs great. Might be leaking an occasional drip from the oil pan plug. Needs a new tensioner for the A/C which I bypassed with a shorter belt. Currently the heater is permanently on. If I disconnect the 12 volt battery, it resets the IMA systems and everything works for about 7 miles, and when the IMA light’s on you lose the electric boost and the auto-stop. The car does drive dependably and economically. Oddly, this Insight doesn’t require smog in California, but friends have told me that they had to smog theirs.
