up for sale/auction is my 1985 ford f150 single cab long bed 351W 4x4 I bought this truck 4 years ago to pull our new boat and avoid the wear on my daily driver.... long story short boats suck and I was left with an old leaky ford that grew on me. My father suggested fixin her up making her like new again... straight body very few dings no actual dents and no rust on the frame! the idea sat in my head for a few weeks then the tranny went out and I had to make a choice part ways or start my project...... another couple weeks and the truck was just sitting in my driveway had some buddies over and some beers and bam my project began... end of the weekend she was gutted pulled the motor the tranny and dropped out the front end for suspension upgrade. I took the transmission to a local tranny shop and had it completely rebuilt with new torque converter. I wanted to spice up the motor a bit with a mild cam and once inside the existing cam bearings were shot now I have a leaky block with shot bearings....tore the block completely down and took it to Lamonts Performance Machine shop he called and said cylinder 0ne was a bit worn and has a few scars and he recommended bore that cylinder... took that info home to the wife and after begging and pleading I was allowed to pull a $5k loan from the bank to re do the whole truck.... aside from the 5k loan I had already paid for the tranny the entire lifted suspension front and rear and numerous new parts for the motor. I have done this project right and didn't go cheap on anything I figured why put all this money into a new bottom and top end on the motor just to slap the old cruddy parts that could last or could fail...haha jokes on me... so below is a list of all the parts/work that has gone into this Classic Ford Truck again all parts used are Brand new in box not salvage finds. completely rebuilt original C-6 3-speed auto tranny w/torque converter rebuilt 4x4 transfercase - $1200 work done by Lee county transmissions installed by knuckle head garage (friends shop) labor not included block was hot acid washed received +40 bore on all 8cylinders new freeze plugs new main bearings new cam bearings the crank was re surfaced and all new performance flat top pistons, rings, connecting rods the heads were shaved and ported new valves valve seals, chromoly rods and stiffer springs all at Lamonts Performance Machine Shop - $2900 Work done my Lamonts also has edlebrock performer top end power package including performer intake manifold performer camshaft and edlebrock performer 600 cfm carb (jetted) timing gears and chain high flow oil pump and new water pump and new headman headers - $1500 installed by Knuckle head garage (friends shop) labor not included 6" full suspension upgrade (suspension not blocks) made by rough country upgraded the package to come with new lift leaf springs not add leafs or blocks and upgraded to the nitro shocks and added the steering stabilizer and extended stainless steel brake lines - $1100 Purchased online also has new wheel bearings and seals L+R new ball joints uppers and lowers L+R new tie rods inners and outers L+R new rear axel seals L+R and new warn manual locking hubs L+R motor mounts and transmission mount - $550 purchased at local auto zone also new brake calibers and rotors L+R completely rebuilt drum brakes in the rear L+R new brake booster and master cylinder - $220 and a triple core all welded aluminum radiator - $300 installed by Knuckle head garage (friends shop) labor not included the interior was a nasty red color and has ALL been replaced other than the seat (Needs new seat) new dash - $140 new door panels - $160 new over head roof liner W/Stereo cut outs - $260 new rubber custom molded floor - $220 new stereo cd player/speakers - $250 all new door and window rubber/seals - $180 all purchased online installed by Knuckle Head Garage (friends shop) labor not included I also have a brand new hood and band new tailgate primered black both still in the boxes that have not yet been installed - $250 purchased online... current hood has rust on underside front lip and current tailgate has rust on entire bottom last but not least it sitting on a brand new wheel and tire combo wrapped in brand new bf Goodrich 35x12.50x15 with less than 2k miles - $1500 needless to say my 5k loan fell a little bit short and I bit off way more than I bargained for but I was in to far to back out so here she is I would say 80-85% completely resto/mod this 85 Ford f-150 runs and drives amazing straight as an arrow smooth as shit and has TONS of power I drive a company car and work 6 days a week now with my newer job its hardly ever used and is a very costly lawn ornament and we are pregnant! so time to take the loss/hit and put the money where it matters...my family the only things that have not been replaced with new oem or performance parts is the interior bench seat the alternator and power steering pump which the lid came off of while driving and made a complete mess of my beauty and she has been parked since..about a month give or take I gave her a quick hose off under the hood and the body for the pictures so when you get her she could used a little scrub love for the show power steering pump and very minor body work (new hood/tailgate included in purchase of this Truck and a new coat of paint and you will have yourself basically a 2017 1985 ford f150 not many of these trucks around and the ones that are are junk grab this bad ass rig for a great deal and make her your own I'm not dropping anymore cash on this build I'm already going to lose my ass and knew that going into the build but times change and so does life I'm not in a rush to sell my truck I really don't want to but priority before pleasure so good luck everyone.
