Vehicle Detail
Two nice bikes- 1968 and 1970. I am the third owner of both of these. I have owned the 1968 red motorcycle for 37 years, the other for 21. The red 1968 runs perfectly and I start it once each summer to ensure it's still functional. The only issue I've ever had with the 1968 was a fractured tappet in 1981, replaced it at that time and its good to go. If you look closely you can see the paint is all original including the gold pin-striping on the fenders. Motorcycle has approximately 3500 miles on it. During storage the speedo was damaged by someone stacking something on it and I took it off to send it for restoration. Never got around to that so it's not on the cycle. I guarantee the seller that I will locate and provide it as part of the sale. The motorcycle runs on a Capacitive Discharge ignition system with no battery. Title is in my name since 1979. You should also note that there is a difference in the mufflers between 1968 and 1970. 1968 is on the right hand side whereas the 1970 is on the left. The 1970 paint doesn't match . I did some work for the owner who was a Triumph perfectionist and he gifted it to me for installing a wood stove for him. He had obtained the cycle, had disassembled it and bagged/tagged every part in order to restore the cycle. He ordered factory correct paint and took the tank and fenders to a "friend" to finish the project. The "friend" disappeared with the tank and fenders. I have used eBay to find some fenders and a fuel tank. The next owner will need to re-paint, but all there. This cycle has 5100 miles on it. Problem is when you kick start, it runs for 5 seconds then stalls. However, this is a very nice cycle with many parts polished. Bill of sale will be provided. Have some spare parts put away in the well house out back. You pay shipping via the method of your choice or pick up in person. Need any details, call me. Bud- (360) 204-6931
