After an extensive search, I found a 1991 Miata in excellent condition just across the border of Wisconsin in Northern Illinois. I bought it sight unseen and was very pleased as it was in much better condition then I observed from the number of photographs reviewed. NO RUST. It was completely stock when received and with out any issues. I drove it a little and realized that I wanted better handling and more power. I had my trusted mechanic install new brakes and engine belts including timing belt. He conducted a visual inspection of the head and valve train and said that all is good. He also noted a minor leak of oil and determined that it was coming from the transmission front seal. I found a NEW OEM hardtop in Detroit, drove over and picked up, returned and had it custom painted to a matching silver. I moved the Miata into my shop for a couple of months and proceeded to add aftermarket components listed below;Used rebuilt Jackson Super Charger with 8psi pulley installedNew Stainless Steel header and exhaust system with Custom Fabricated Cat Removal tube.New, Four Coil Over shock absorbersNew Heavy Duty anti sway bars New Cockpit roll bar New Extra Pro-kit Exedy Clutch Assy. Not installed not neededNew Radio and speakers, door and seats.New Water Temp GageNew AEM A/F Gage systemNew Miata dedicated Mega Squirt fuel injection/Ignition management computer New Extra High Pressure fuel Pump not installed Other Extra's included:All of the Stock OEM components removedThe Convertible Rag top which is in very good condition4 New Dunlop Direzza Sport z11 185/60r14 High performance Radials installed on car4 New Snow tires on new steel rims4 Used Nezart Rims with Gen 205/45r16 87v wear factor 280 tires on rims1 Reconditioned Cylinder head with new valves and liftersMany others like new head gasket, Burl Dash kit, Spark Plugs and 4 Compressor Pulleys Two Minor Issues. The oil leak from the Transmission. (small patch about the size of a Quarter on shop floor in a 2-3 weeks time. Kind of like a New Harley many years ago). Air conditioner works well but the pump is a little noisy, Perhaps clutch. I am done with this project and moving on to the next. Need room in my shop and money to buy good stuff for the next one. I have built twin Turbo 482 race boat engines, installed 2 of them in a boat and could not hang on coming up on plane. It was a rush. But not as much of a rush as a little Miata, 10 lbs of boost, and the scream of the Jackson Supercharger in second gear. Try it you will like it! With all of the extra's it is best if the Miata is picked up with a truck and trailer. Over 11k invested. No reserve so go for it. Terms...
