Supplied by James Windsor Rover dealers, in Mansfield, UK on June 1st 1989, this Defender remained in the hands of the original buyer until his passing last year. It has covered just 100,033 miles in the last 27 years, that equates to a tiny average mileage of only 3,704 miles per year! This is a completely standard Land Rover 110 Station Wagon, it hasn't been altered in any way at all! It comes complete with all of the original handbooks, service book and literature. It even has the original AM/FM radio fitted! As you can imagine, the Land Rover, starts, runs and drives exceptionally well. The best I've ever known a Land Rover of this vintage drive! The power steering is crisp, and true... as is the gear change, everything operating exactly as it should. As with the rest of the Land Rover the interior is completely original and all twelve seats are in good clean order, as are the original carpets. The chassis is in very good order, very strong, and it will be for many years. On the body of the car, there is some oxidizing/rusting of the aluminum, and bubbling of the paint (which has been touched up in places). But this is in keeping with the age of the Land Rover, and it actually adds to the charm and character of the car, as do the odd scrape, scratch and ding! This Land Rover is 95% + original paint, just touched up and there in the correct Arles Blue! The Land Rover has a good strong roof rack fitted, which is fully galvanized. The front cab has a sunroof, which remains nice and dry inside and free of any signs of damp. I don't think anyone would be disappointed in the condition, as genuine one owner Land Rovers, in completely standard form are very, very hard to find! This is a rare chance, and with some work, this could be turned into a really good show quality example, as the starting point is so original and strong! Of course it has some scrapes and scratches etc. but nothing really bad, and the structure is good and strong! Perfect to just get in and use it for what it is! ... an old Landy, full of charm. VIN: SALLDHMB7FA380990 Engine This engine is the 19J 2.5 Turbo Diesel, It starts right up every time. It doesn’t use oil or water and runs great. We gave it a service including new fluids throughout. It has a little over 100k miles and will happily sit at 65mph while getting 25+MPG. Body The body of this Defender is in good condition for an original unrestored defender. The paint does have some age related marks as does any 25 year old vehicle. The paint is original and has never been repainted. Bulkhead - Is in fantastic shape and very solid. Rear Cross member - The rear cross member was replaced with a genuine Land Rover replacement part and is in great shape. Frame - The previous owner protected the frame with red oxide paint to prevent corrosion happening. We have left it this way to show the vehicle in genuine condition but it can be painted black upon buyer’s request. Floor Pans - Are solid and in very good shape. Door Bottoms – Again are in great shape and don’t have any holes in them. Interior The interior is completely original and hasn’t been messed around with in any way. It’s in very good condition without rips and holes in the seats, it also features the original carpet and radio. The headliner is starting to show some signs of sagging (We can have this repaired for the new buyer if they wish). Brakes & Running Gear We checked/rebuilt all brakes. They all work as they should and the parking brake holds the vehicle as it’s meant to. Bearings, seals gaskets etc. were checked and repacked where required. Clutch operates correctly, the transmission shifts as it’s meant to and it doesn’t make any strange noises. There are no fluid leaks.
