1977 Suzuki RM 80First Year - Highly CollectibleNO RESERVEYou Bid - You Buy Up for sale is my 1977 Suzuki RM 80. I bought the bike with the intentions of restoring, but plans have changed. It has a new top end that was installed by the prior owner, it starts easily and has good power. It shifts and stops just like it should; however, it does seem to need carburetor tuning. The bike is missing the air box ( you can buy one on eBay for 40 dollars) and it is also missing the plastic side number plates. The tires will need replaced along with the seat cover. The bike is leaking gas from somewhere - it could be the petcock or shut off valve. (The picture of the piston is the one that came out of the bike when the top end was rebuilt. It is still very usable.) The day I bought it, the prior owner had it stored in his house. We moved it outside, he put gas in it, and went flying up the street. I brought it home that day, rode it around the yard, and pushed it into the corner behind my boat. I never really looked at it again so it is exactly like I bought it. The bike is not restored and needs some work, but a great bike to start with - it would make a perfect father /son project. The NADA book value is $3,500.00 - look for yourself. I am guessing it is highly valued because it is the first year for the RM 80 therefore making it rare and collectible.
