Vehicle Detail

For sale is one 1972 Honda CL350 Cafe Racer. To be honest there is not much CL left on this bike, and it more closely resembles a CB. The front forks and wheel were replaced with those of a 1976 Honda CB360, which provides a hydraulic front disk brake instead of the stock cable operated drum. The engine is from a 1973 (I believe) CB350, but I have the original crank case included with the sale in case you would like to go back to matching numbers some time down the road. Some usual cafe/beat modifications include clip on handle bars, a brat style seat, a 2-1 exhaust system, aftermarket rear sets which mount to the passenger leg mounting locations. The gear shift lever and rear brake levers are connected to their respective controls with rose jointed linkages. The exhaust was purchased used and the bottom pipe is somewhat crushed. Exhaust wrap was used to hide that. The rear frame has been chipped off just behind the shock absorber mounts, and under the seat a brace was welded in to make the back end as rigid as possible. The fenders have been removed, both front and back. Though I have not experienced any wobble while riding it, I have been told that a fork brace should be added. I forward that recommendation to any potential buyer and will leave it up to The next owner. The center stand was removed, leaving just a side stand. The gas tank is painted with black crackle finish paint. though it looks pretty neat from some angles, this is definitely The weak point of The bike and I would have probably repainted The tank if I were going to keep it. The inside of the tank is free of rust. The rear tire is brand new. The front tire is not new, but is not cracked and has some tread life left. The speedometer installed is a smaller aftermarket unit, but I will include the original which displays 19886.6 original miles on the odometer. The engine has about 20 miles or so since a complete overhaul. The stock paper air filter elements were removed and replaced with uni foam, but the original filter cages and rubber velocity stacks were retained. This bike does not have pod filters, which are nearly impossible to get right on cv type carburetors. This bike starts on the first or second kick every time from cold. There is some hesitation at around mid to full throttle which makes me think the carburetors need to be cleaned and possible rejetted to a count for the aftermarket exhaust and uni foam filter elements. The electric start is not wired up because I was going to bypass it completely, but all components will be included. I have tested the starter motor and it cranks strong. If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask and I will answer them to the best of my ability. I am selling this bike because I simply have too many other projects and don't have time to put into this. I grew out of my cage racer stage and no longer have the interest or motivation to finish this bike. I sincerely hope it finds a good home because a lot of time and work has been put into it to get it to where it is today. Thank you very much for looking!
