1993 Volvo 240 - 2.3L 4 cylinder engine; automatic transmission; rwd 1993 marked the final year for Volvo's iconic 240 which had been available since 1975. These vehicles are known for their safety, longevity and utility, especially in the wagon style. The 1993 model has only a few changes from the previous models, most notable is that this is the only model year the 240 came with the more modern R134A air conditioning make it more likely to work than the earlier models. Traded in on a similar Volvo, the owner decided to make a move because this one needed a little work and he didn't want to invest in a car with a salvage title. We agreed that the branded title might be an issue from a value perspective. But when we finally inspected the car and started working on it, we decided that this was such a nice car that the title brand wouldn't matter. This 240 is very solid - rust free, tight, clean and in very good condition. The car runs and drives very well. The engine is smooth and quiet. The oil was fresh and timing belt has been replaced recently. The previous owner also replaced the stereo with a modern unit that has auxiliary connections. And he changed the wheels out for 15" turbo rims and new tires which give the car more modern & sporty look. Our service in preparation for sale included a thorough inspection, new front brake pads & rotors, a brake fluid flush, new tailgate wiring harness, A/C service which included a new condenser, relay and freon, an alignment, new speaker wires, state inspection and cleanup. While the car already drove well, now it is all up to date and everything works. The Carfax report is available. We do not have any details as to what caused the the title to be branded.
